Does anyone know if it's better to book excursion w/Disney and possible pay more or...
is there a chance you could do the Swim w/Dolphins' deal cheaper in Cozumel????

Would like any info on?

You can check out the direct prices at www.dolphindiscovery.com. That is the website of the place in Cozumel. Disney only offers the "Encounter" ($105 each) but you could book a real "swim" ($99+ each) with Dolphin Discovery. But you would have to pay for taxis and admission to Chakanaab Park ($10 each), Disney's price includes both. Also keep in mind, if you are late back the ship, the ship will wait for Disney excursions but not if you are on your own. We wound up doing the Disney Encounter, it was really wonderful. The Encounter you are in chest-high water, the swim is in 20 foot water, both with life jackets.

Hope this helps!:)

We booked the Royal Dolphin Swim directly thru Chaankanaab Dolphin Discobery. It was very well worth it, and we had a small group of 9. 4 of them being my family! We walked past all the cruise people doing the encounters and it looked miserable, as ther eseemes to be very larger groups! Also we wanted to swim with the dolphins and do the dorsal pull and the push up. TO me it was well worth the $119 PP especially since DCL was offering only the encounter for $105. Oh yeah, that did include the cost of park entry, and we took a cab diretly from port and it seems like it was $10 or so, but I do not recall. Do the Swim! IT was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! www.dolphindiscovery.com

PS, when I booked thru their website, all I had to do was select the date that we were in Coz, and the ship we were on. The co-ordinator selected the best time for us, which was 12n. The Magic stays in port at COZ until 12m so there should be no stress or worry about getting back to the ship on time! Any questions feel free to ask!

we booked the dolphin excursion thru disney, and I really wish we had booked it on our own. We had an awesome experience, but could have done more for about the same money. I think it would be easy to get there on your own as well.

The encounter was a big disappointment because you don't "swim" with the dolphin . It swims by room and you interact a bit with it but for the money I would definitely book it on my own and do the full swim.

I was there this January and booked the full swim through shoretrips.com (same exact swim). It was awesome!! There is no problem getting there and back - there are a zillion taxis waiting to take you there and back. For the four of us it was $10.00 each way for the taxi. This is much better than the encounter - more personalized - our total group only had 7 people and 4 of them were us! We practically had our own swim.

Everybody, thanks so much for the info!

You've been a great help, trying to identify which Dolphin deal to do on your own is hard, but w/friends, it's all better!:wave2:
