GotG Cosmic Rewind AP previews

I was able to get an AP preview for may 21st. I know that I don’t need and EP park reservation and that the preview serves as my park reservation.
Question though….can I make a park reservation for that same day…say AK in case I want to go to another park later or can I just hop after 2 even though my park reservation that day is only part of the preview admission?
Hope that makes sense and thanks!

I was invited to a CM preview for TSL and rose both rides, but I know that *** had some issues so maybe it didn’t happen all the days.
I went looking back through - when they announced CM previews, they made a point of telling everyone that only Slinky would be available. I completely forgot - they ended up doing a second round of CM previews that covered the entire land the week after that. I think the first round was like five days or something, and the second was longer. (That might really tell the story of how close they were to not getting it open in time.)

Yes you should be able to make a park reservation for that same day. As it gets closer Disney will most likely add an Epcot pass but it won’t mess with your other one

Yes - the Epcot reservation with GOTG is a bonus reservation. So you can book another park and have all-day access to both.

One note from the Remy preview that came up - the Epcot park pass that comes with the preview is non-cancellable. (It doesn't have a Cancel button.) I remember some people were freaking out a little bit that they might kill it by accident - but it's automatic. So if you see two park passes for the same day, no need to freak out about nuking the important one.

Thank you! I was worried to mess with anything but just made a HS park reservation for that day so we can hop over when we are done at EP. Thanks for your help!

The only AP previews we've had in the last decade were Pandora (all AP levels), Galaxy's Edge [the land and MF:SR] (Platinum and above), Remy (all levels), and GOTG (all levels).

The past-previous ride openings were the re-do of Test Track, which had no previews, and New Fantasyland, which had AP preview days scheduled, but they ended up soft-opening it to the public before they took place. (7DMT opened later, and only had a media preview.)

Before that, AP previews were mostly minor stuff like Captain EO's return, the refurb of the Hall of Presidents, the return of the Electrical parade, new fireworks, etc. I think the most notable AP preview for a ride back then was Toy Story Mania in 2008.

(Maybe the biggest tell in all of that - they didn't really open anything major for a long time, prior to Pandora.)

Toy Story Land only had a short round of CM previews, and I think they were limited to Slinky Dog. They had special AP-limited periods that September, weeks after it opened to the public. (The rumors were that they were behind schedule on getting it finished, which made AP previews impossible.)

Same for MMRR - there were ten days of CM previews, no AP previews. (I can only speculate on this one, but I'm guessing they wanted to get it open before Spring Break and ran out of time.)

ROTR only had a media preview - no CM or AP previews. (Same - I think they just didn't have time.)

Galaxy's Edge included Gold also since I had Gold and family was silver but almost went with a friend that had gold. New Fantasyland also had AP previews over a few days.

yes I was on a cruise ship last week. Knew it would happen so I paid the cruise line for expensive internet. I did get DVC preview on the 18th. Some sites were saying the DVC link was a scam but I wasn't sure what the point of such a scam would be, so I kept the link open and was 1000 persons from entering, which isn't bad for slow cruise ship internet. Was not notified of AP opening the same day, found out too late and the event sold out while riding in a taxi through the hills of Antigua looking at the one phone we had with international data plan. at least I have the DVC one, although it did result in having to change to an afternoon flight, but that only cost $5. And I could cancel my resort reservation for 5/28. Was already booked into Beach Club for May 13-18

Well once they open TRON (and the Rail Road) later this summer.... might be a long time before we see anything again.

Would they do AP Previews to Moana: Journey of Water, whatever that actually ends up being? Or the rest of the center of Future World rehab?

Eventually they'll get around to reimagining Splash Mountain... but I expect that will end up taking years. But the ride itself might not really need breaking in...

I'm not buying cruise ship internet for Moana's Journey of Water.

Yeah that was more tongue in check... Likly to just be Moana's bench and fountain, after Imagineering was told to scale it back from the concept art.

I think TRON's going to be it for a long time after this.

When is TRON supposed to open?

Six months ago....

Have no idea really as it's hard to say how much interior work has to be done in the show building. They been doing some testing of the track and ride vehicles since March, guest have reported seeing the empty Bikes a few time. So I think that part is nearly done, but clearly they have a bit yet to do on the outside grounds.

Usually we will get word of Disney staffing the attraction... that started for Guardians around the first of the year. So nothing on that, I'd say early Fall is most likly - might shoot for their 51st Anniversary?

Thanks!
I thought I read somewhere that it was delayed until early 2023, but can't find that now.
Thanks!

I’ll keep my eye out for news since it sounds like another new ride preview won’t be happening for a long time

I don't think Moana warrants a preview, it looks like more of a garden with some cool water effects rather than an attraction. Covid, budget cuts, and the CEO seem to have knocked everything out of whack regarding Epcot and future world. My guess is Connections will open with a day notice (it's not really anything special just new food), Moana will probably get an opening date a month or so in advance but probably nothing more than "media" previews. For the center of everything, like the Walt statue and stuff, I don't know when, if ever, we will get to see that and what amount of excitement it will warrant. They had planned this whole thing with the festival center and more gardens and stuff and it seems that got abandoned. If everything went as planned would it all open at once or would everything be spaced out? If at once I imagine there would be previews for APs, CMs, etc.

Tron probably won't open until 2023, there will definitely be previews for that. I don't know about the railroad.

TL;DR
Probably next AP preview will be for Tron, and nothing else for a few years.
