Well I bought Camping Christy's pop up earlier this week and I'm getting ready to launch the makecampingeasy.com business. I'm in no way trying to advertise here so please don't take this thread as that.

Jen's hubby Chris is almost done with the website and I now have the camper here in Jax. It was so clean I don't even think I'll have to do anything to it. Christy and Ron took great care of it and it's like new. When she 1st said she was selling it I thought the thing was like an 04 or 05 model. Come to find out it's a 1999. I'll post some pics later today. I think Christy hated to see it go even though they got a new beautiful Cub Hybrid but she knows people will enjoy it and spend time at the fort having fun in it. She even included a nice portable gas grill and microwave in it. It will be really nice for us as well to go on a trip to Stone Mountain and maybe the Keys without having to pull my 5th wheel and burn more fuel than I want.

One of my aunt's boarders at her horse barn is using it next week at a horse show near Daytona so I already got my 1st customer.

Got the pop up, now what ?

Take it to Disney World, of course !

Frank and I will be happy to send business your way, by word of mouth and by letting people know when they ask about rentals here on The Dis.

I just got back lol. I'm hoping to get Chris some pics tonight so he can turn the site on.

You're renting a pop-up? Hmmm :scratchin...DH said he would not camp in a tent at Disney, never said anything about pop-ups though :rolleyes1. Can't wait to see pics. popcorn::

Cool Donnie, what kinda rate structure are you going to use? Is there a separate delivery charge? I assume you deliver and set-up the unit? Are you just renting the pop-up, or the 5th wheel too?

Hey, it's not advertising... it's answering direct questions!

I'm thinking somewhere around $85-$90 a day. The camper will be set up at the fort and will include the following:

Pop up Camper (obviously and hopefully lol)
Tabletop gas grill
Electric Skillet
Microwave oven
sheets
pillows
6 towels
quilt for each bed

I have more ideas and would like any suggestions without going overboard of course that I can add to the rental. I have a few bikes too that we'll be posting pics on the website for people to choose from. Not sure if there will be a small fee for bringing them.

A lot of people have said oh, so you're competing with Tina. I think the 2 rentals are very different and no I don't plan on renting out the 5'er. The pup is real basic and would be hard to hurt. It's also easier to keep clean so I think our rental business will actually compliment each other rather than being a competition. Tina is also a friend and this was actually her idea for me to do last summer.

I think a certain Dis'er has it around the middle of May with her troublemaking sidekick. Hopefully they'll leave the toilet paper in the comfort station. :rotfl2:

Thanks for all the well wishes.

Good luck with the business Donnie. I can't wait to see the website.

The forum ate my post....if it doubles I apologize....

How about tacky lights? Or camp chairs....for those who fly and can't pack them? Just a thought...

Good luck, hope it takes off for you! :)

Good luck Donnie! I know you had been thinking of getting a pop-up for a while, it's pretty cool that you decided to use it for a side business.

I hope it all works out well for you donnie!

Good luck Donnie. I think it's a great idea. How about a night light and clothesline.

Ok Donnie I see your just trying to advertise :lmao:. Just kidding. I know when I talked to you last time you didn't want to rent out your cart. But how about find a old cheap elec. cart cover it in advertising for your camper (web site and phone #) and include it for a extra $20.00 a night. So a $100.00 a night for a cart and a camper it would be booked all the time. Hope it works out for you.:thumbsup2

Great idea...he'd have to put the GC in the bed of his truck...but it's very do-able!!

From your title Donnie, I thought you were bragging that the Viagra finally kicked in!
