Got the Coach online sale email!

I ordered this for DD's birthday (not in this color, though... the color I ordered must have sold out) (Floral Swing Pack in khaki):

And I really like this one but I don't think the shoulder strap is long enough to wear cross-body, and that's what I really need (Ashley Leather Large Satchel):

And I don't usually like the signature print, but for some reason I'm really drawn to these two (Signature Pleated Swing Pack):

I got this several days ago at the outlet. I was going to buy the little wristlet to match, but figured it isn't a must have, plus if I keep thinking about I can run over to the outlet .

It is soo cute, I hate that it doesnt have "feet" on it, but the flowers finally lured me in screaming springtime at me lol.

I am pretty careful about where I set my purses down , so I usually don't have to big an issue with them getting dirty. I am thinking I might scotch guard it.

I got this in black leather: http://www.coachfactory.com/content/product.aspx?product_no=13215&category_id=1960

Super boring compared to all the super cute prints and colors but I've been saying I'm going to buy a good black leather bag for awhile. I was really tempted by a neutral colored purse for summer but I showed restraint and just got one. Made the shipping cost a little harder to swallow but better for the household budget overall. ;)

I like the brass/khaki one. (The last one you posted.)

Yeah, I'm really leaning toward that one... or the Hippie, but I'm not wild about any of the leather colors on that one and the signature print with the brown trim is apparently sold out. Guess I better make up my mind pretty soon; only a couple of hours left!

This is my newest love .... I just can't justify it though. I really need a good basic leather bag. Mine died this fall after 5 long happy years together . I also need a black swingpack for a NYC trip this fall, plus a new rug for den and ottoman , it is time for the thomas the train table to go away. So in other words, 400 is needed many other places and not on a basket weave style bag lol. I still might have to visit her in the store, just to touch her a bit lol.

So, what about this Hippie... is the pink trim ridiculous for a woman in her 40s?

I kinda learn towards yes on that question . I don't think it is ridiculous at all, but it such a light pink, looks a bit young. If you wear a lot of pink , it might be a good to have though.

I really like the large leather Ashley satchel you like, it is very pretty in person.

What about the penelope leather hippie ?

I'm not much of a pink wearer. I really need something neutral. (sigh). Pass.

Yes, I just wish the strap was longer. In my experience, the leather straps are pretty slippery, and I have a hard time keeping them on my shoulder unless I wear them crossbody, and this one isn't long enough for that (sigh again).

Yeah, I understand what you are saying. I only use the handles on leather bags , In fact I usually only buy bags with handles, which is why I want the swingpack for NYC trip, keep my hands free : ) .

Good luck choosing , I am off to shop for above mentioned rug... and maybe new summer sandals ; ) . I am in a shopping mood. Post what you finally decide on !

Don't visit the purse while you're out! Nothing good can come of it! :rotfl:

For someone who writes really well... you miss a lot context!

Enjoy your purses! :thumbsup2

I know more than one person who has an alternate email address for things such as this that they don't check as often as their main address. And there are people like me who will skim their messages, save ads that are potentially interesting, and then read them when they have time. If you consider this a sign of the impending decline of society, go with that.

Well, let's just say the tone of your posts is "annoyed." Perhaps you did not mean them to sound that way. But when someone posts a thread on a topic that has been discussed here before without complaint, and says basically "why did you post this here," one does tend to sound annoyed that the post even exists.

Does "budget" always mean "spend the minimum amount of money?" I thought it meant "plan your spending." Because I notice you aren't posting this same message when people mention other sales on other items that cost money. Why aren't you up in arms about posts regarding the Great Wolf Lodge, Keurig machines, Wii games, etc.? Why is it only this thread that apparently encourages others to surrender their impulse control? And why would you assume that everyone who buys a bag is failing at "impulse control?" Is it really not possible that people plan for these things and wait for a sale? :confused3

Also, if someone wants a Coach bag, and wants to spend less money... hmm... I wonder if a factory outlet sale would be a good way to accomplish that? What do you think? :teacher:

Okay. The information was unnecessary for YOU and therefore you found it unnecessary to be here. Thanks for clarifying.

I got the swink pack for hawaii. The little flower aplique screamed "tropical" to me.

Yes I love that one too! I have a hat that would match beautifully!

I found 2 pairs of shoes. I can never find my size at the department stores so that was great.

Yes I got that one for my DD at the outlets a few weeks ago.

Thanks, I want to get it for my dd for Easter and didn't know if I should chance driving all the way to the Outlet.

Hmmm... when I signed up, it was during the January sale... maybe you can only sign up during sales? I know you can add your name to the mailing list on the general Coach site, but I don't know if that's the same list as the one for factory sales.
