In 2004 when we went back to DHS (which was still MGM), Chelsea got her star groove on communing with her favorite character's hand prints. Doesn't she have star written all over her?
I made Chelsea and Connor recreate the famous Luke and Leia scene on the speeder bike. Did either of them even "get" what I was having them do? Not then, but they do now.
In 2007 we went to MGM for just one afternoon and evening. I didn't bother taking the camera, but that was the night we ate at Sci-Fi. It is still one of my favorite restaurant experiences of all-time. The restaurant is so perfectly themed, and those clips are truly hysterically funny. We had such a great time.
Then, there was the 2008 journey to what had become known as Disney Hollywood Studios. Did one park ever provide more fodder for our trip report? I don't think so.
There was the infamous incident of Charles falling asleep on the Great Movie Ride and coming dangerously close to cuddling with the man next to him.
My favorite character interaction of all time. Darth Vader!!!
On another day Connor pulled his notorious Toy Story Mania. He didn't want to ride TSM with his sister, but I insisted since there were just the three of us. Connor, in his snit, refused to play. He just sat there for the entire ride. Little Stinker.
Chelsea met a very special man. When we met Charles at the entrance of DHS, she let out a squeal and said, "There's my main man!" and went running off. Turning around and expecting to see perhaps Zach Effron, a Jonas Brother, or maybe, even Captain Jack, I was confronted with this.
Bo. The Wooden Coke Man.
Bo has become a very special man in our Disney lives. Everytime someone goes to Disney, they always remember that Chelsea is "pining" away for Bo and snaps a pic. It has helped eased Chelsea's suffering during these long months away from "her main man."
Remember the picture from the last DHS update with me in front of the Toon Town Patrol car from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Well, it has since been moved to the Backlot Express and on our last trip, Connor posed with it. Like mother, like son!
We are so excited to be going back in just fifty days! I think our first day there we will head to Disney Hollywood Studios to catch some of the Star Wars Weekend festivities and get a couple of rides in -- then we will head back there on Tuesday. Which rides top our must-do list?
Toy Story Mania
Rock n' Roller Coaster for our two daredevils.
Tower of Terror -- will Connor and I dare ride this ride?
If not, Connor and I do love the gift shop -- that's for another update though.
The Great Movie Ride -- I always tear up during the montage at the end.
Star Tours -- my favorite ride at DHS.
One Man's Dream -- we have never done this and I want to see all the models. The kids want to see Walt's desk and pen ever since reading The Kingdom Keepers.
Lights, Camera, Action! -- we have never done this either, and I think Charles and Connor will especially like it.
The Animation Academy thing where you draw your own character -- we drew Winnie-the-Pooh last time so I hope we get a different character this time.
We just can't wait to get there!
