Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

In 2004 when we went back to DHS (which was still MGM), Chelsea got her star groove on communing with her favorite character's hand prints. Doesn't she have star written all over her?

ChelseaMinnieMouse.jpg

I made Chelsea and Connor recreate the famous Luke and Leia scene on the speeder bike. Did either of them even "get" what I was having them do? Not then, but they do now.

ChelseaConnorStarTours.jpg

In 2007 we went to MGM for just one afternoon and evening. I didn't bother taking the camera, but that was the night we ate at Sci-Fi. It is still one of my favorite restaurant experiences of all-time. The restaurant is so perfectly themed, and those clips are truly hysterically funny. We had such a great time.

Then, there was the 2008 journey to what had become known as Disney Hollywood Studios. Did one park ever provide more fodder for our trip report? I don't think so.

There was the infamous incident of Charles falling asleep on the Great Movie Ride and coming dangerously close to cuddling with the man next to him.

My favorite character interaction of all time. Darth Vader!!!

On another day Connor pulled his notorious Toy Story Mania. He didn't want to ride TSM with his sister, but I insisted since there were just the three of us. Connor, in his snit, refused to play. He just sat there for the entire ride. Little Stinker.

Chelsea met a very special man. When we met Charles at the entrance of DHS, she let out a squeal and said, "There's my main man!" and went running off. Turning around and expecting to see perhaps Zach Effron, a Jonas Brother, or maybe, even Captain Jack, I was confronted with this.

Bo. The Wooden Coke Man.

Bo has become a very special man in our Disney lives. Everytime someone goes to Disney, they always remember that Chelsea is "pining" away for Bo and snaps a pic. It has helped eased Chelsea's suffering during these long months away from "her main man."

Remember the picture from the last DHS update with me in front of the Toon Town Patrol car from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Well, it has since been moved to the Backlot Express and on our last trip, Connor posed with it. Like mother, like son!

We are so excited to be going back in just fifty days! I think our first day there we will head to Disney Hollywood Studios to catch some of the Star Wars Weekend festivities and get a couple of rides in -- then we will head back there on Tuesday. Which rides top our must-do list?

Toy Story Mania

Rock n' Roller Coaster for our two daredevils.
ChelseaandCharlesRockOn.jpg

Tower of Terror -- will Connor and I dare ride this ride?
004_21.jpg

If not, Connor and I do love the gift shop -- that's for another update though.
020_5.jpg

The Great Movie Ride -- I always tear up during the montage at the end.

Star Tours -- my favorite ride at DHS.

One Man's Dream -- we have never done this and I want to see all the models. The kids want to see Walt's desk and pen ever since reading The Kingdom Keepers.

Lights, Camera, Action! -- we have never done this either, and I think Charles and Connor will especially like it.

The Animation Academy thing where you draw your own character -- we drew Winnie-the-Pooh last time so I hope we get a different character this time.

We just can't wait to get there!

Phew, I am caught back up again!!!

Your storm pics were scary!!!! Ugh, I hated those storms!!!! I was so glad when they passed!

I love the Easter pictures! We didn't do boiled eggs this year, only plastic full of candy! :lmao:

I love, love, love your tip cards you made! They are awesome!!

Yeay for being caught up again!

I was a wreck during them! Thank goodness there wasn't any damage!

Thanks! We had a lot of fun with egg dying. I found all the ADR graphics over on donatalie's disign thread.

Oh... now I get it!

Her Daddy must be secretly thrilled...she couldn't be any safer on a "date" than with Bo! Just wait til he has to deal with the real thing!

Ed plans to let all of our DD's prospective dates know just how many shotguns he owns!! Poor Tricia! :rotfl:

Kathy

The pic of Chelsea with her hands in Minnie's handprints is adorable!! I am really enjoying your memory pictures, they are really fun and sweet. :goodvibes

As far as TSM being a "must ride" - I hope Connor actually does more than just ride it this time! Does he regret not playing?

I hope you go for ToT too! BUT, if you don't-I completely understand. I told Jen I would do HM, but I'm so scared, I think I'll probably chicken out esp since Joe looked at me like I was CRAZY when I told him....so I'd be riding alone! :scared1:

I felt the same way about the desk and pen- I loved Kingdom keepers! I really need to get the 2nd one!

Okay, I love the whole update, because you know I am all about photos of your kids! They're just so cute!

But I have to say that my favorite is on the speeder from Star Wars. They look adorable! And I'm rather partial, since I had my son pose on that on our last trip. I just think the kids look so cute posing in those movie setups. Which is also why Connor looks adorable with the Toon Town Car. Isn't it amazing how things come full circle?

And who can forget Chelsea and her man. :lmao:

You're sure to have an amazing time at DHS, especially with Star Wars weekend going on. Who knows....perhaps there's some more Vadar in your future. ;)

Star Tours -- my favorite ride at DHS.

One Man's Dream -- we have never done this and I want to see all the models. The kids want to see Walt's desk and pen ever since reading The Kingdom Keepers.

You ought to put that girl in commercials! She'd be perfect for all the things they sell for pre-teen girls, or her sweet smile could easily convince millions of viewers to buy the latest greatest breakfast cereal or fruit juice or peanut butter or whatever. She's just got a sweet, wholesome look about her. She could start out with a commercial where she's chompin' on some kind of Fruity-O's....and end up with her very own handprints in concrete! :goodvibes

And you might as well put Connor in the commercial, 'cuz he's just cute as a little bug, too. He could play, let's see...the pesky little brother who invades the squealing big sister's slumber party.

Less than fifty days for you now! I have been so busy that I forgot to notice we went into double digits.

I like Star Tours a lot, too. I have to look straight ahead when they close the side doors, but then I just focus on the ride. It would be nice if they would update it and do all kinds of hi-tech new things with it, but I still like it.

It is really neat to see Walt Disney's personal belongings and things from the way old Mickey Mouse Club.

Connor Toy Story Mania... I forgot that from last year!

Totally agree with MeMom... Chelsea is too pretty and Connor is the perfect little brother, you know he can pull her strings just by looking at that smile!

Great update. We can't wait to try TSM! Love the picture of your kids in the que. :)

We really liked Star Tours also. Now that the girls have seen some of the Star Wars movies I think they'll like it even more.

I too love the gift shop at TOT, but I love the ride just as much. The quick view from the top is awesome and I love seeing the hidden mickey in the shaft on one of the drops down.

I'm looking forward to going back to DHS when I can ride the thrill rides....going to Disney pregnant the last two times put a major damper on that.

Connor and Charles will love the action car show. I liked it myself but don't feel the need to see it every trip.

Great update Jackie! That is so funny about Chelsea and Bo the Coke man!:rotfl: How cute that Connor got a picture in the same exact spot you did!! We love some Star Tours in this house too!!:thumbsup2 I LOL when I reread about Charles falling asleep on the Great Movie Ride! Bryan does that on Ellen's Energy Adventure!! Too funny!!:goodvibes

Love the pics! You did have some great moments in your TR last summer about DHS.....
So this year, no drugs for Charles! Although I am glad that he made it back to the resort without getting lost or riding the bus for hours asleep..:rotfl2:
Connor will totally appreciate TSM, is he terribly competitive? We are........but when I win I try really hard not to rub it in...:rolleyes1 Baylor has been known to pull his own version of TSM when not having the hight score...:sad2: You guys will have a great time at Lights, Motor, Action......but it is very hot sitting in those bleachers in the afternoon....... If we see it again this summer we will try to go early or at least make sure we have a cold drink or even a frozen lemonade:thumbsup2 Sorry, I sounds like I'm doing my pre-trippie on your thread...:rotfl:

Chelsea totally looks like a star in her leopard collared coat on the "walk of fame"!!! She's so cute!

Love that you recreated the Luke & Leia speeder scene. Star Tours is one of my favorite rides too. Have you seen the hidden kermit in the queue?

:rotfl: on reliving some of the funnier moments from your last trip. Hopefully Charles will not be on medication and hopefully there will be no snits. TSM is too fun to skip a ride by not playing!!

Ahhh Bo. That's one of the things I love about the DIS. That you see things in the parks and think of your DIS friends. 50 days til Chelsea sees Bo again. Is she planning a special outfit? Or a special pose? ;)

One Man's Dream... I think you'll really like it. I think it's just fascinating. I'm glad to hear Chelsea and Connor are interested in it too. Re: Kingdom Keepers I haven't read them but the author was on the WDW Radio Podcast last week and he mentioned that they are working on a Kingdom Keepers tour for the Magic Kingdom! And the next book is coming out this summer. He had some neat stories - if you guys are fans you should listen to the interview!

50 days! Tinkerbell has just flown across your ticker!! I can't wait for another CP TR!! :goodvibes

Great update. Getting so close. I have told my family the story of Toy Story Mania and the part that impressed on my DH is that he can leave us at a park. That thought never occured to him. Drat. Well, if he leaves he takes the baby for sure.

A quick review of the past trips to HS(MGM) makes me really look forward to the next report in the sequel.

Will Chelsea and Bo still be an item this summer or will she fine a new man?
Will Conner have the best score at Toy Story this year?
Will this be the year everyone ride TOT?

Good luck next week during the testing. Do you have your own group or will you be a break giver/second person in the room?

What a great update on DHS, CP! Very nice! Fun photos of your family -- we have never done the animator's thing what is it called again? -- is that worth it? TSM is the best! And Star Tours is great fun too! I will have to look for Bo myself, now that I know he is so "famous"!!! ;)

Oh... now I get it!

Her Daddy must be secretly thrilled...she couldn't be any safer on a "date" than with Bo! Just wait til he has to deal with the real thing!

Ed plans to let all of our DD's prospective dates know just how many shotguns he owns!! Poor Tricia! :rotfl:

Kathy

:lmao: about Ed and Tricia -- I imagine it will be a bit sobering for Tricia's BFs to discover that he is in law enforcement. ;)

Charles will not know how to deal!

Thank you! Connor did end up riding and playing again later in the day with his daddy. He loved it!

It's those multiple drops, Brook, that scare me. I don't like not knowing how many times I am going to be dropped.

You really should try Haunted Mansion -- it's not the least bit scary -- just campy in a Disney way -- it is quite funny. Have you youtubed it to see if you think you could handle it?

Guilty as charged. :rolleyes1

I am actually planning on doing a Bo scrapbook for Chelsea with all the photos our DIS friends have taken of Bo over the year. I think it would be super cute.

I felt the same way about the desk and pen- I loved Kingdom keepers! I really need to get the 2nd one!

Oh, yes, you do need to read the second one! It is great -- a lot about Animal Kingdom in that one. The third one is coming out soon according to amazon! :woohoo:

Okay, I love the whole update, because you know I am all about photos of your kids! They're just so cute!

But I have to say that my favorite is on the speeder from Star Wars. They look adorable! And I'm rather partial, since I had my son pose on that on our last trip. I just think the kids look so cute posing in those movie setups. Which is also why Connor looks adorable with the Toon Town Car. Isn't it amazing how things come full circle?

You're sure to have an amazing time at DHS, especially with Star Wars weekend going on. Who knows....perhaps there's some more Vadar in your future. ;)

Thank you!

I am all about posing with the movie sets -- I am hoping to get some cute ones on the city streets this year!

We will probably only be at DHS for the one afternoon and night during SWW, but we may find ourselves running into ol' Darth or maybe some stormtroopers!

:goodvibes

Ahhh, thank you! I do think she would be great in commercials, but, believe it or not, despite my suggestions to join the drama club, she doesn't like to perform. :confused3

And you might as well put Connor in the commercial, 'cuz he's just cute as a little bug, too. He could play, let's see...the pesky little brother who invades the squealing big sister's slumber party.

Connor has that one down for sure. He knows just what to do to make Chelsea mad -- today she was screaming, "Mom!!! Connor's trying to hug me!!!" :rotfl:

Less than fifty days for you now! I have been so busy that I forgot to notice we went into double digits.

I like Star Tours a lot, too. I have to look straight ahead when they close the side doors, but then I just focus on the ride. It would be nice if they would update it and do all kinds of hi-tech new things with it, but I still like it.

It is really neat to see Walt Disney's personal belongings and things from the way old Mickey Mouse Club.

This time in seven weeks, we will be soaking in that great Hollywood atmosphere!!! :goodvibes

One of these days I hope they refurb Star Tours! The film is beginning to show its age.

I am looking forward to seeing all the memorabilia at One Man's Dream. We were almost headed in there last year, but got sidetracked for some reason -- I don't remember what now.

Connor Toy Story Mania... I forgot that from last year!

Totally agree with MeMom... Chelsea is too pretty and Connor is the perfect little brother, you know he can pull her strings just by looking at that smile!

Yes -- Connor's most massive fit at Disney ever. ;)

Thank you! Yes, just wait -- Luke will be pulling strings in no time, too -- little brothers just seem to know instinctively what to do.

Great update. We can't wait to try TSM! Love the picture of your kids in the que. :)

We really liked Star Tours also. Now that the girls have seen some of the Star Wars movies I think they'll like it even more.

The queue is awesome! All the toys are massive and you will find yourself thinking, "I want to be one of Andy's toys!"

Oh, yes, they will definitely understand it better now after seeing the movies.

Duh -- I guess that's why you haven't ridden any on this past trip! Sometimes it takes me awhile to catch on.

Connor has asked everytime to do LCA, and we never seem to make it. It's a priority this time.

Thank you! I wouldn't have minded so much if Charles hadn't kept leaning over towards the man beside him -- I should have put have put him in the middle of us.

If we see it again this summer we will try to go early or at least make sure we have a cold drink or even a frozen lemonade:thumbsup2 Sorry, I sounds like I'm doing my pre-trippie on your thread...:rotfl:

No Benedryll this time! :thumbsup2

Connor did end up riding TSM later in the day with his dad -- he is terribly competitive -- when he was little I remember him pitching a fit because he lost a game of Sorry and threw all the pieces in anger. He is slowly getting better. Very. Slowly.

I will remember to make sure we are armed with cool drinks and go in the morning -- thanks for the tips!

Chelsea totally looks like a star in her leopard collared coat on the "walk of fame"!!! She's so cute!

Love that you recreated the Luke & Leia speeder scene. Star Tours is one of my favorite rides too. Have you seen the hidden kermit in the queue?

Thank you! I did think Chelsea looked very glam in her leopard print.

Hidden Kermit? Do tell!

Or a special pose? ;)

There may be a special outfit! Which reminds me about something I need to include in the next update...:rolleyes1

Oh, do you know which podcast it was? We would love to listen to it! We have really enjoyed the books -- there was a lot of argument as to who would read the second one first when it arrived in the mail last year. I wish they would do a tour -- that would be super neat!

50 days! Tinkerbell has just flown across your ticker!! I can't wait for another CP TR!! :goodvibes

Amazing how much progress Tink has made since I quit changing resorts! Can you believe in just seven weeks we will be there! It kind of seems surreal at this point.

Great update. Getting so close. I have told my family the story of Toy Story Mania and the part that impressed on my DH is that he can leave us at a park. That thought never occured to him. Drat. Well, if he leaves he takes the baby for sure.

:lmao: Sorry. ;) Sometimes it is a good idea to split up and have some alone time -- just remember to remind DH that it works both ways. My favorite alone time was taking walks around the resort in the evening and going to the gift shop by myself.

:lmao: We shall endeavor to answer all those questions! :thumbsup2

I have a small group with extended time. Since I normally teach the gifted kids, I don't have a homeroom. Come testing time I get one of the special ed. groups to give the test to. I actually like that best because then I only have seven kids.

What a great update on DHS, CP! Very nice! Fun photos of your family -- we have never done the animator's thing what is it called again? -- is that worth it? TSM is the best! And Star Tours is great fun too! I will have to look for Bo myself, now that I know he is so "famous"!!! ;)

Thanks! I think it is called The Animation Academy -- I think -- let me go look -- it's called The Magic of Disney Animation. It is very cute -- there is a little film at the beginning about how a character comes to life, and then you go into a classroom type room where you are taken step-by-step through drawing a character. Afterwards, you have these great 11x14 character drawings that you have done.

What a wonderful DHS update! :goodvibes

I love the pictures of Chelsea with the fur coat, she just looks adorable and super happy in all of the pictures.

I have to admit that I am really looking forward to Charles stories from this trip. There is bond to be a benadryl worthy story. I mean, really, a year later and I am still wondering who takes benadryl at Disney World. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Connor and his fit at TSM, what classic Disney World! I still admire that he didn't play the entire time. I rode it and I don't think at my maddest that I could have not played.
