Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

I think your must do list is indeed grand. We may have to try for the sword fighting scene with Baylor and Captain Hook as well. Dole whips........oh yea! just don't go for them while your family is waiting for a parade and take them back all melted......:rolleyes1 I'm very curious about the Main Street Bakery French toast loaf, could you elaborate please???

Did you say more in that update??? Because once I read DOLE WHIP, my mind wandered and completely became consumed in dreams of all that pineapple-yumminess!!!!!! OOPS...................just did it again!!! I need a Dole Whip BADLY!!!!!

Magic Kingdom Must-Dos: The Other Stuff

*Pecos Bill's: A Charleston Princess and Family tradition.

*Columbia Harbor House: Everytime I see pictures of the food here, my mouth starts watering.

*

What is at these two restaurants? Are both QS stops? I have not explored them, we have never been to either, but I have seen them mentioned frequently... something special, not to miss?

So many things I love on your list... and on mine too!

The Dole Whip-- even my Emily remembers sharing mine last summer. For sure where I will spend my snack credits!

As for the Main Street Bakery... we stopped by there late and there was no line! I love all those goodies in there, especially there chocolate chip cookies, but the French Toast Loaf might have to make for an early stop!

I love Pecos Bills but DH loves Columbia Harbor house. I do think it is a cool break from the heat and has terrific different CS food!

I too want to get the Tink picture and Captain Hook Pics!

I love shopping at Main Street in the Emporium... so much fun!

Great Update Jackie!! YAY for almost having the trip paid off!! That is fantastic!!!

I love your must dos for Magic Kingdom!!! I love French Toast Loaf...so yummy yummy yummy!! Hope you had a relaxing weekend!

The MK plans sound great. I look forward to the EPCOT plans. One good thing about Disney planning is you have something to daydream about during teacher meetings.

Congrats on almost being all paid up! I've never seen Captain Hook in all my years of going to WDW! I hope you get that photopass pic. It sounds really fun. :thumbsup2

The photopass one that I have seen is a cartoon Captain Hook -- like the Tinkerbell, Stitch, and Simba ones. It's in Adventureland near POTC.

If nothing else Jackie, we could go to Magic Kingdom and eat together!

Wouldn't that be fun? I noticed we had similar tastes when I was reading about your MK day on your TR, Heidi! :thumbsup2

French toasr loaf! That sounds interesting!! Your choices are awesome. you are making me hungry.

I have seen several pictures of it around the DIS boards that always make me drool.

Congrats on almost having the trip paid off! Do you know we have NEVER stopped at any store/restaurant/snack shop on Main Street!:scared1: We are always rushing to the rides! I really want to spend some time soaking up the Main St. atmosphere this trip! I LOVE the Captain Hook pictures too...a must do for us as well!! Have you figured out what you are going to do about DHS yet? I am still slightly stressed about it!:goodvibes

I am so looking forward to making that last payment! Main Street is such a great place with all the shops. It's been awhile since we slowed down and enjoyed it though. I think we are leaning towards using some of Charles' coaching stipend to get Park Hoppers so that I don't have to stress about DHS -- we can come and go as the mood strikes us. Also, Charles and Connor tend to call it a night early, and with Park Hoppers, Chelsea and I could head to the MK for some girl time at night.

Great update, Jackie! I'm so excited for your trip- I know that I say it every time but I can't help myself!!! I'm starving now-thanks a lot. And I must say- I sooo can tell you're a teacher by your lists. They are short, concise, and to the point. No lost- readers here!!!

 I felt like a teacher when I was reviewing the previous updates at the beginning.

Dole whips!! We got those after riding PotC one day (another family favorite and must-do, like for you) -- I ended up getting the float and kind of wished I had just gotten the regular dole whip, but it was still yummy and still something I can only get in WDW. :cloud9:

I have done the floats twice and the pineapple juice is always on the warm side, so this time I am just going to do the regular cup of ice cream. I can't wait to be in Adventureland with two of my favorite rides and Dole Whips!

The french toast loaf sounds really really good; I'll have to hunt that down on our next trip. Funnel cake -- I was still and still am dying for one. When my mom and I were at Epcot, we were going to get one with fruit topping from the American pavilion, but the line was huge! I think it was because we made the mistake of going to Epcot on one of their early entry days.

Everyone always raves about the french toast loaf -- I also forgot to mention that I want to try the Figaro Fries -- those look good, too.

Funnel cakes always remind me of going to the state fair when I was a kid, but no place makes them like Disney.

I'm still so excited for you staying at AKL -- I was thinking of you last weekend when we went there to eat at Boma. I wanted to wander around and take pictures for you, but I'm severely directionally challenged and didn't want to go further than the lobby, lest I get lost and have to make my parents call me and try to find me. :rotfl2:

Isn't it gorgeous at AKL? Did you look in the gift shop? Did you like Boma??? Charles and I were talking this morning and we may end up doing that one again instead of Sanaa -- we just can't seem to pass it up!

I am bound and determined to make it to the Main Street Bakery on my May trip.

I love your list but I am sure that is not shocking. ;) I agree that you do need to find the Captain Hook sword fighting picture, that would be adorable with Connor and Chelsea. :goodvibes

Me too! If I don't make it there in the morning, I want to stop in and get an ice cream sandwich!

Can't you just envision Chelsea and Connor sword fighting with Captain Hook!?!? :lmao:

You know, even my mom has a picture sword fighting with Captain Hook? :lmao: It's quite cute.

And she and Nana did the scary ghost thing in front of the Haunted Mansion, too, but I believe it was at a MNSSHP. I'll have to ask her.

And of course my dear, I am so with you on the whole Dole Whip thing. I'm craving them now. :lmao:

See, I think the ones I have seen are from MNSSHP -- I hope not, though.

I so enjoy my Dole Whips!!!

OK, I hate to admit this, but I'd not even heard of a Dole Whip until the Dis. Now I'm craving one. Can you crave something you've never even tasted? :lmao:

Sure! I craved them before I tried them, too!

I'm with you on the tax refund straight to Disney. Only $200 left on our package @ the BC!:cool1:

Us too! Only $197.77 left on our AKL one!

Do you have to request that the photopass photographers take the pictures with imaginary characters, or will they automatically take them in certain places?

I don't know -- I plan on asking this time if they don't offer. It's probably a setting on their camera I would imagine.

First set of replies are on the previous page!

Yes, Dole Whips in the middle of summer do not hold up well on the way back to Spectro spots. :lmao: The pictures of the french toast loaf that I have seen look like a great big slab of French toast. So yummy!

I definitely think Baylor needs to fight Captain Hook! :thumbsup2

Did you say more in that update??? Because once I read DOLE WHIP, my mind wandered and completely became consumed in dreams of all that pineapple-yumminess!!!!!! OOPS...................just did it again!!! I need a Dole Whip BADLY!!!!!

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I understand completely, Jen.

:ssst: Can you believe it....I've never had a Dole Whip! :ssst:

And I call myself a DISer!!

Kathy

:scared1:  :scared1:  ;)

Are you going to try one on your next trip???

What is at these two restaurants? Are both QS stops? I have not explored them, we have never been to either, but I have seen them mentioned frequently... something special, not to miss?

They are both quick service restaurants. Pecos Bill's seems to have two followings -- the ones that love it, and the ones who don't. It's located in Frontierland and serves burgers and the best chili fries. They also have a Fixins' Bar with all the things people like to put on their burgers -- lettuce, tomato, pickles, sauteed onions, cheese sauce. We always seem to gravitate towards it when we are at MK -- it's also huge and air conditioned -- always a plus in June.

Columbia Harbor House is on the way to Fantasyland from Liberty Square. We have never eaten there, but it seems to have a devoted following. I want to try the tuna salad sandwich they have on the menu.

So many things I love on your list... and on mine too!

The Dole Whip-- even my Emily remembers sharing mine last summer. For sure where I will spend my snack credits!

I remember Emily sharing your Dole Whip last summer, too! Wasn't your husband and Hannah riding Splash Mountain at the time? Ohhhh, this summer you will get to ride Splash again. :goodvibes

As for the Main Street Bakery... we stopped by there late and there was no line! I love all those goodies in there, especially there chocolate chip cookies, but the French Toast Loaf might have to make for an early stop!

Since we are planning on eating at Crystal Palace for breakfast, we may have to opt for other goodies from the Bakery -- everything always looks so yummy so I don't anticipate having a problem finding something I like. ;)

I love Pecos Bills but DH loves Columbia Harbor house. I do think it is a cool break from the heat and has terrific different CS food!

If we go with Park Hoppers like we are planning, we will be able to fit both Pecos and CHH in -- that would make me happiest.

I too want to get the Tink picture and Captain Hook Pics!

I love shopping at Main Street in the Emporium... so much fun!

The girls would be precious holding Tink!

The Emporium is one of those WDW classics as far as I am concerned. :thumbsup2

Great List - You got me motivated to start my park "must do" lists. :goodvibes

Thanks! I saw that -- a truly enjoyable list, too!

Great Update Jackie!! YAY for almost having the trip paid off!! That is fantastic!!!

I love your must dos for Magic Kingdom!!! I love French Toast Loaf...so yummy yummy yummy!! Hope you had a relaxing weekend!

It's a good feeling. I am so weird that I won't actually write anything in my Passporter until it's all paid off. Then, I know it's for real. :lmao:

Thanks! I am looking forward to trying the French toast loaf.

It has been an okay weekend -- going by too fast though. Is it spring break yet?

The MK plans sound great. I look forward to the EPCOT plans. One good thing about Disney planning is you have something to daydream about during teacher meetings.

Thanks! I certainly do my share of daydreaming about Disney during teacher meetings. ;) Today, I started rereading all the bits about Epcot in all my various guidebooks to get ready for March's Epcot posts. :thumbsup2

I give full credit for the below information to Brookelizabeth who posted it in one of her TRs or PTRs. I'm not a stalker... I promise. :upsidedow But I've been using the Microsoft One Note program that basically lets you take screen shots of things and file them away in an online notebook. It's been very handy for Disney planning. Anyway, here is her photopass info. I agree, the Captain Hook shot is very cute. Definitely a must-do!! ::yes::

Magic Kingdom Must-Dos: The Other Stuff

*The only things that really stand out here are wanting to visit the new Stitch Dance Party and seeing Wishes.

In other news, Disney received all of our tax refund that I sent in last weekend, so now, I only have one last payment to make.

Epcot planning = Soarin'. Yay! :cheer2:

The Stitch Dance Party will be something new to look forward to!
:stitch: :stitch2:

One more payment - awesome!

The guy who does my taxes hasn't got mine back to me yet, so I'm figuring I have very little chance now of getting it back before my trip. That's making the trip even more iffy than it already was.

It's nice that you can still say 'when I was there last week..."
I hate it when the whole week goes by and you can't say that anymore. While you can still say 'last week', it's kind of like it's still close enough to touch.

You missed a lot of cool stuff by not wandering the premises. It's such a nice quiet place to see some of the animals up close. If we're ever in WDW at the same time, we'll meet you over there. Brooklynn can probably show you around the whole place by herself already! :rotfl:

The MK plans sound great. I look forward to the EPCOT plans. One good thing about Disney planning is you have something to daydream about during teacher meetings.

True that! Very, very true! ;)

Christine, you ROCK!!! :worship: Brookelizabeth, you do, too, for compiling this list!!!

This is so going in the trip binder!!! In a place of honor!!!

MeMom, we must have been posting at the same time, because I missed this before.

Soarin' is my all-time favorite ride at Epcot -- which is funny because I am so afraid of heights. I get all tingly-excited just thinking about soarin'! :goodvibes

That's too bad that your tax guy hasn't finished yours yet -- are you planning on e-filing? We get ours back super quick when we do that.

Tour Guide Brooklyn is the best!!! I agree, MeMom -- being able to say, "this time last week" does make the trip seem close even after you return.

True that! Very, very true! ;)

How would we get through those meetings without Disney trips to plan???

I agree, it seems next to impossible to find those character in the photo shots!

We've never managed to do any before so that is why I am going to ask the photographers this year.

Jackie I just loveee your lists! They're helpful not only to you but to your less knowledgable readers like me! :thumbsup2

I so want to be in the MK right now eating some fudge from Main Street Confectionary, getting my picture taken with Tink in my hand and heading towards the Dole Whip stand! (eating is obviously the most important part of the trip next to the attractions! )

I just printed off this information from allears today!! I should have waited another day. :rolleyes1 There's more information on their site about where the photographers are stationed in each park if anyone is interested.

Ahhh, thanks! I am glad that you find my lists helpful!!! Quite a few of those things I never would have known about without other DISers mentioning them.

What a perfect image you painted of being at MK! Eating is one of the most important things.

I will definitely have to head over there and check it out!

That compiled list is awesome... I will be checking All Ears too!

It is, isn't it? Now I will be able to plan very specifically all of our PP shots!
