Got my waitlist-waited 10 days!

I wish all waitlists were so brief. I went on the waitlist 10 days ago for a value studio at AKV for October. For the second year, the waitlist came thru quickly. I'm so glad!

I had to waitlist for a room at Wilderness Lodge for October - I was wondering can you view your waitlist on the member website somewhere - I just wanted to double check that it was there!!! Congrats on getting yours so quickly - how do you know when you get it?

stnet, for the most part, you know the waitlist come through when you see it listed in "your vacations" on the DVC member site. Maybe now they will send you an e-mail right away. That would be nice. There's no way at present to see your waitlists.

Yes, Bobbi, they now send you an email when your wait list comes through. It's a bit cryptic, as it just looks like a reservation confirmation, with nothing indicating wait list, just a link to a reservation, as if you had just made a new reservation. But if you click on it, you'll see the wait listed (now confirmed) reservation. I completely love this new system!

Just curious, what days were you waitlisted for? I am thinking about a value studio for 2 nights (a Thursday and Friday) in October. Should I rethink my plans?

I own at AKV, and now at HHI too, but I only have 11 points at AKV (all from 2012) so I'll be using banked and current HHI points for this October. This makes me ask....can I call before the 7 month window and ask about the availability of the value studio? I normally the answer would be "no"...but...since I have the points available for the first night, and they are AKV points, could they still check both nights? Does my question make sense?

Actually, I just realized that the nights are at the very end of September. It's a split stay-transferring over to BCV for the beginning of the F&W festival when DH joins me for the F&W half-marathon and then eating.
I don't know about your points at AKV, but like you, we also own at HHI.

Looks like we have similar travel plans this year. We're doing HHI from April 3-8 and DH and I are doing WDW (hopefully) October 13-18. We just bought HHI and we've never been there. We added on 50 points on January 22 of this year so, with our Feb UY, we received 2010 points and 2011 points on Feb 1. So, since we won't be doing HHI again until 2013, I have 100 points to play with before January 2012. We also have 11 points from 2012 (AKV) to use since those will not do us any good for an Easter vacation at HHI in 2013.

I'm hoping to try either BCV or BWV for the first time. I will either need a value studio at AKV for the first two nights or I will have to get REALLY lucky and score a standard 1BR at BWV for the last three nights. Otherwise, I'll probably be doing a studio/1BR split stay at OKW.

You've never been to HHI!! I hope you love it as much as we do. I'll admit, the style of vacation is a little different and not for everyone-it's quieter, more laid back, restful, no nightlife, etc. I'm sorry we seem to be missing you by a couple weeks both in April and October. Same place, slightly different times! I hope you'll post about your impressions of HHI, whether it's pro or con. Maybe we'll see you there in 2013.

That's funny, wonder if your waitlist came through due to us rescheduling our vacation lol...last week we cancelled our value studio at AKV for October 2-7th, I was sure someone was going to scoop that one up!
