Got my voucher.... Have a look

FWIW the same system was in place for the birthday promotion last year, except that promo required an original birth certificate for kids.
It makes sense for the birthday promotion to provide proof of the date of your birth.

Right now, a fastpass isn't worth it to me. In fact, the rules are so annoying I may not do it at all even for myself.

Disney has every right to set the rules as they want. If someone doesn't like it, don't do this program. Why complain about it?:confused3

This is a generous promotion for the charities, first, and anyone who wants to earn a day's ticket. I realize Disney has marketing behind this, but the good it is doing is profound. The negativity is not surprising, as there is always something to complain about, if one chooses to be so negative.:sad2:

I believe Disney requests birthdates for ressies. I have to tell my kids birthdates every time we book. So likely, they have a whole lotta birthdays in there already.

I have NEVER been asked for my DD's birthdate. Her age, yes. Her birthdate, no.

Now that is amazing because I've always been ask for my kids birthdays and now my grandkids birthdays when making reservations either from Disney or DVC Member Services. Actually when I call now I just tell them their first name and they pull them from a drop down menu. Often they tell me how old they are. Just recently I noticed my grandson's birthday was wrong and they corrected it. They mentioned we was 17, when we was only 15 and they updated it. I find it makes booking much easier since they have everyone who travels with me already on file. I makes lots of reservations so I'm sure I have a very large portfolio with Disney. When making my reservation for November they had no problem pulling down 8 members of my family, but had to put in the new baby and yes they asked me for her DOB. I know this for a fact as most of the time when I call to book, they always say, is Robert the second adult or Karri (my daughter). None of this bothers me in the least, esp. since I work for Uncle Sam and he knows everything about me from my parents DOB and DOD, to my siblings and everyplace I've lived at my entire life. I never sweat the small stuff like Disney asking for ID for my kids and grandkids. Heck just last month, my daughter had to pull out the old birth certification for SW and Jetblue to prove babygirl was under 2. I agree, Disney has the right to verify information when it comes to promotions where folks have abused these types of things in the past. It's too bad that this happens, but I guess it does. We either except the rules and guidelines or we don't participate. Our choice.

We just got our vouchers via email today! We did blankets for project linus. We turned the blankets in on Feb 10 and vouchers in hand 4 days later. The whole process was seamless. Couldn't be more pleased and my daughter and I enjoyed making the blankets!

If you signed her up to volunteer you were asked for her birthdate. To register for the GAD program they ask for everyone's birthdate.

I tell you something thats worse in Disney's system about you, your credit card numbers. Any credit card that you have given Disney for ressies is stored. I found this out several years ago. I had paid off a card that I hadn't used in over 6 months because my other card had a great APR. I used the rarely used paid off card for the room. Because I hadn't used it in awhile they declined it. Disney went ahead and charged a different card without my ok to charge the card. My room only ressie was at Poly for 5 nights so you can imagine it was over $1,200 for the room after deposit. Calling the CC Company of the paid off card they only declined because I hadn't used it in awhile and just needed a call from me. When I got home I called my CC companies and asked for new cards. Now I only use 1 card when making ressies for anywhere (airline, other theme parks, hotels,...)

It's my DD that I am concerned about. I don't want her name and birthdate permanently in some Disney database.

Do you give your DD's name when you set up your ressie for room & tickets? If so, she's already in their "database".

Does she play any type of competitive sport/activity? My boys' birth certificates are all over the place... I've always got to provide "proof of age" for them, so don't see how Disney playing the part of "big brother" is any different.

I had to take my DS's original BC last year for the b-day promo. I was worried about losing it in the parks, but kept it safe with my 'notebook' of info. This year, it's nice to see they just need a copy. I understand you not wanting to provide this info, but like a pp said, you had to provide b-days for each person when you registered to participate with GAD (I'm sure in part to make sure all volunteers were 6 and up).

As for giving the voucher to someone else, it's about the fairness of the folks who actually DO the work themselves, reaping the benefits. Disney has a way for folks to "give away" their vouchers if they so choose. It's all about following rules. Disney certainly didn't HAVE to do this promotion this year, and we could all be going & pulling FP's the old fashion way. ;)

Me, I'm taking advantage of the 4 vouchers my family has earned, so we can do more during our busy week over spring break. AND there is a way you can "share" this promo with friends. I can use my 1 FP card to pull 2 FPs for the same ride, to share with my BFF who didn't participate in GAD. I'm yet to figure out if we can get the 2 extra FP cards (for our total of 6 cards with 1 voucher) when they are not our MY ressie.

If you read the voucher, it says "an original OR a copy" of the birth certificate. It's just really small to see.

i got my vouchers and printed them this morning however they just have our names on them I do not see a barcode?

The barcode was along the very bottom and bottom side of the page. I have it on mine.

Does it have name and birthdate, or just name? I am trying to sign my stepmom up and she isn't answering her phone and I don't know her exact birthdate.

The Voucher does not have a birthdate.

But I do believe when you register it requires your birthdate. And it would be on file to X-ref when you cash it in.

The voucher states not valid for ADMISSION on March 29-April 8 and July 4th.
We are traveling to Disney over 4th of July, and want to use our vouchers for fast passes, not admission, anyone know if they are good to use for FP on the blackout dates?

From what I've heard...they will not accept that at all on the black out dates... even for FP Exchange cards.

If the person is with you when you get your GAD FPs in the morning they will get their own FP card, whether or not they are on your ressie, they just need to have a park ticket and be with you at the time the FP cards are issued.

We were just down in Feb and had 9 days with only our family but my MiL decided to join us for 1 day. We had a really old 4 day ticket (circa 2001) and she used the last day on it for her admission and waited with us at guest services to be included with our FP's. There was never a problem. :thumbsup2

Also for the record, the only ID that needed to be provided was the person redeeming the voucher. Everyone else just needed to hand over their park tickets. So for the pp who's concerned about showing her dd's birth cert, you will only need proof of ID if she wants to redeem a voucher with her name on it. She can still be included when you redeem vouchers with your name (or any other adult who shows their voucher/ID) because then all you need is the admission tickets.
