I am not really sure if this is where this belongs---but I am putting it here anyway.

Awhile ago I posted that guest services was going to leave me a little surprise for some difficulties I had with my reservation. The surprise was very nice. A little bit of pixie dust. We got a Mickey cooler backpack, ears for everyone in our party, a picture frame, a photo album, and a disposable camera. Overall way more than I was expecting. I seriously thought we were getting Mickey rice krispies treat.

My son swears that people follow us around or record us where ever we go--like the Truman show. It is just spooky weird how things happen around us. A few years ago while wandering the Magic Kingdom we had a conversation about doing the conga down main street. Disney now has a dance party where they ask you to conga down mainstreet. My daughter and I had a conversation about grandkids--she said she wanted a daughter named Charlotte--so she could call her Charlie--anybody watch the Disney channel?

So image my shock when I opened our surprise to find a picture frame--which I purchase every trip to put one special family photo in and ears--I have a collection--I buy one pair every trip. The ears are classic Mickey with our names on back--the one I do not have and was planning on buying this trip. The picture frame is the one I considered purchasing in December--until I saw the Jack Skellington one for my Christmas photo.

Come to find out that I really like having pixie dust all over me. I highly reccomend it, and wish that all Disney guests get a bit of it at some time in thier life.

This was our first stay at POFQ. The new rooms are nice--clean and well appointed, but like everyone else has reported--the pillows are terribly hard. We always travel with a twin size blow-up for my son. It fit very nicely alongside the beds. The staff was very friendly and always pleasant and helpful. I really liked the size of the resort. Very manageable with a bad hip and blistered feet. Got to love a hot tub-not too hot-just right and the perfect spot to watch all the pretty boys walk by.

I just got an elbow in the ribs. For some strange reason my adult children think I am too old to appreciate a pretty boy--not too young mind you--I think they are best at about 26 to 35. They are now rolling their eyes. I ain't dead--just old.

We ate at the counter service spot on several occasions. We found the hidden Mickey on the first night. I loved the pork po boy. Seriously large. I reccomend splitting it---the same goes for the rib dinner. Way too much food. I was disappointed with the increase in soda prices. The only soda available in the bottle at the QS is Fanta orange and the soda machines are $2.75 for a 20oz bottle. At home it is $.75-$1.25.

Our first day--Sunday--we went to the Magic Kingdom. Walked on everything. Did not need nor did we use a fast pass all day. I forced the entire family to go on Snow White's scary adventure. One last time before they rehab it into something new and exciting. I still miss Mr.Toads wild ride. Had lunch at Tony's--they have stopped serving the Walnut Lemon cake--so sad. Everything else was wonderful. Had dinner at Whispering canyon cafe---left the place too stuffed to move. Went back for EMH and again still no lines. I did notice that the wait staff are no longer suggesting what the tip should be. It is printed at the bottom of the reciept. Suggested tip and the amount for 18% and 20%. I think this is a very smart thing. Nothing is more annoying than a waitperson telling you what you should tip. Another thing we as a family have discussed. Seriously--I am thinking about having my house searched for recording devices.

Monday we went to HS. It too was pretty empty--we got our fast pass for TSM and ran into a bit of Disney magic. As we were walking away with our FP a nice man handed us his 4 passes for that hour. We went on TSM twice that day and then again after dinner at 50's Primetime. By the way the Chicken Pot Pie was amazing--just needed a little salt. We did RNRC 3 times. My son, who is a remarkable artist, and I, being the very proud mother, am not the only one that thinks this, convinced us all to take the character drawing class. I had never done this. My son did not get his talent from me. We were supposed to draw Jack Skellington. Seriously I can not figure out how it is that I can not draw a circle....it is really sad. Thank goodness I have other talents---someday I hope to find them.

Since we literally got home 4 hours ago and I have laundry to do before I can go rejoin the non-Disney world at 5am I will continue with our trip later.
