I just got my shot the 20th from a pharmacy that lets me pick which brand I want so I'd be good to go ahead of our upcoming trip to WDW. I have been seeing so many stories of catching germs I would like to avoid while traveling and it just seemed like an easy way to improve my odds of a nice vacation & a nice holiday season too I guess. I do not want to come home with any parting gifts if I can avoid it.

We were visiting people with a very sick child in the house this past weekend, a week after I got the shot and I escaped unharmed. To be honest, I am totally shocked I'm ok, figured for sure I was doomed, I even tested myself and was fine. Now I'm hoping it holds up through the WDW crowds, I'll take extra precautions anyway but still, I am feeling much calmer now.

@LuvOrlando - I don't blame you at all. When my DD and I went to WDW in June we wore a mask on the plane for the same reasons you posted - we wanted to try and avoid any sickness there and when we returned home. You gotta do whatcha gotta do.

Have fun with your final preparations for your trip - so exciting!!! :mickeyjum

I went 9/21 to 28 just as the new covid shots were being distributed so not enough time for me to get one before departing. I haven't gotten mine yet since I've been busy and now have some kind of something ( mainly an annoying cough- nothing else).
As soon as I feel well, I will get #1 Flu, then#2 updated covid.
We all just need to do what we are comfortable with.
I hope you have a great time and a healthy one too!!!

Totally agree. If I get sick when I’m home fine, but I’m not running the risk of ruining my vacation!

Good for you. I don’t have a trip planned but a couple weeks ago I got my senior flu shot, Covid booster, and my RSV vaccine. All at the same time. My arms were a bit sore for a couple days but I’m glad to have done what I can to protect myself.

My Godson brought some Ick home from pre-k a few weeks ago and gave it to me. I only felt unwell for a few days, but I've been snotty and cough-y ever since. We tested multiple times, it wasn't Covid. Just some *thing.*

I found on our last trip to Disney last September that not touching railings and other things, and using hand sanitizer after holding onto lap bars and other restraints and components of a ride made a big difference. We also masked on the plane.

I’m going to Florida in a few weeks. I got my flu shot a couple weeks ago and have an appointment next week for a Covid vaccine. I bought new masks and plan to wear them on the plane. Last time we went to Florida, before the pandemic, I got such a bad cold and I came home with pneumonia. I’m hoping the mask does the job.

DH got a stomach bug on a trip to Vegas about 5 years before Covid. After that we made sure to have hand sanitizer/ wipes on vacation. We also wash our hands after ordering a meal in a restaurant( or use a hand wipe). Even ones on our home turf.

Fingers crossed for you! But definitely still take precautions. I got flu shot and booster - but still got covid while in orlando last month and was pretty sick for the last part of the trip and long after returning home. (I even masked most of the time.) So many sick people there who have no concept of hygiene or consideration for others. :(
