I was on hold for 40 minutes, but I got the Sweet Sundays for 10/24! I'm very excited!!!!!!!!

Excellent, me too! I got the Party for the Senses on 10/30! I'll have to call back to get the names of the chefs for the night as my cell phone was breaking up. But I'm pretty sure she said the 2004 James Beard Award winner for pastry will be there that night. Yummy desserts! I'm so excited!

We got ours too! Maybe they had more reservationists this year - we got the Party of the Senses, Lunch and Learn (with Paula Deen, I'm so excited, I always watch her on the Food Network) , the "Exclusive Evening at Epcot - French Finesse" and the Vertical Tasting at Tepanyaki. I couldn't believe we got them all. Boy are we gonna be full (so much for the South Beach diet that weekend!). Hope y'all got your requests!

I am SO excited!! She is one of my favorite food Network chefs. The reservation agent I got said that she had already booked 3 parties into the L&L with Paula and it was only 7:15. It sounds like it is going to be a popular event.

Anyone else going? We can have a little DIS meet.

Linda

Success!! I booked seven events.

I brought up the correct time at http://www.time.gov/ on my computer display. I called 1-407-WDW-FEST (1-407-939-3378) a minute before 7:00 a.m. Eastern, and I got a message that the offices are closed. I tried a few more times. I kept getting the "closed" message until almost 7:01 a.m. -- then I got the regular Disney Dining greeting. I was only on hold a minute or two.

Last night at 6:00 p.m., Disney posted the official event information at http://www.disneyworld.com/foodandwine/ -- but without dates or times. Still, it was good to learn the what the various restaurants would offer at the Food & Wine Pairings:

Mitsukoshi Restaurant, Japan Pavilion - Sake, Sushi, and Sashimi
Restaurant Marrakesh, Morocco Pavilion - Mediterranean Family Style
Nine Dragons Restaurant, China Pavilion - Chinese Cuisine & Beer
Coral Reef, Living Seas Pavilion - Rotational menu
Le Cellier, Steakhouse, Canada Pavilion - Rotational menu
L'Originale Alfredo di Roma, Italy Pavilion - Regional Italian Specialties
Bistro de Paris, French Pavilion - Regional French Specialties

For dates and times, the best source is still http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/guides/epcot/events/index.htm -- however, there seem to be some events that were added after these dates and times were posted. For example, the Food & Wine Pairings at L'Originale Alfredo di Roma aren't listed (but they're on Friday and Saturday, at least for the week that I checked).

I got my Ray Bayliss Lunch and Learn - I picked it because according to the menu on the website, it's Mexican cuisine.

We're also going to book a Party for the Senses, but later on after we move (moving is expensive  ). If the James Beard pastry chef is at the one on 10/30, I may have to choose that one.

I was on hold only for about 2 minutes, myself.

I just called back and confirmed the chefs for the Party for the Senses on 10/30. The chef is Mark Franz and the pastry chef is Emily Luchetti, both of Farallon restaurant in San Francisco. She did win the 2004 James Beard Award for pastry.

Who took all the spots at the Lunch and Learn I wanted?! Grr, guess I'll be calling back until October.

I wasn't on the ball until this morning, so I didn't know I could call (or even what was going on) until this morning. Needless to say I just called, 9:30 EDT, and I couldn't get the Lunch and Learn w/ Paula Deen... well, I'll try again some other time..

Have a great time parrotheadlois and LJC!

(now, if they had Alton Brown from the Food Network... that would be too much! :p )

We wanted one of the two wine and food pairing events on the last weekend (11/12). I dialed right at 7:00, but missed a digit putting in the home phone so was not connected until 20 seconds past - so I was on hold until 7:24. By that time only one of the two was available. We got the one at the Coral Reef, which was our second choice (1st choice would have been le Cellier).

Sadly this was all we will be able to do this time. Maybe we'll do a reserve dinner next year,or a vertical tasting, or a lunch and learn thing. One of the great things about owning DVC at BWV is that we we know we can and will be back next year, and that we'll be stumbling... er... walking distance from the F&W events.
;)

I wouldn't be able to contain myself!

I got to meet him recently when he came to the Florida Mall. One of the best days of my life! :teeth:

Very strange morning.

First time for me, I got through immediately. This has NEVER NEVER NEVER happened to me .:Pinkbounc Usually onhold for 45 minutes.

My DW still kept on getting we are closed AFTER I got through.

I got everything I wanted. It was interesting that for each of the ressies I was making, the confirmation number kept on going up only 40 or so. I expected 100s if not 1000s. Maybe I had a fast CM;) .

Anyway, good luck. See you down there.

We booked Party For The Senses on October 16th around 10am. I was not on hold at all. Called on the 1-800-828-0228 number. Does anyone know some of the chefs for that night? SO excited! :Pinkbounc

We got everything we wanted also. Can't wait.

We had a great castmember.

Our major event is the Exquisite Evenings Pacific Northwest, yeah!
We are going to combine that weekend with a party of the senses.

WE will go up earlier in the month for a Lunch Learn with Bob Waggoner on 10/3. I googled all the chefs they had listed so far..and he looked very, very interesting, so we can't wait. We also through in the Di-vine dinner at Citricos that same weekend, and the Wine Pairing at the Bistro. We are going to be busy..lol.

See you all there!

I was pretty anal about making my call, in the frenzied way the
CRT folks do it! LOL! I got up just before 6:00am central time,
and I started to dial 407-WDW-FEST. I kept hanging up and
redialing when I heard the "We are closed..." message.

When I found the phone lines opened, there was a short wait.
But, how many of you heard Ursula singing "Poor Unfortunate
Souls"? I was ROFLMAO! I kept thinking that it was appropos
for this song to come on, as some people were probably shut
out of their choices.

However, my luck ran out the minute I tried to book my first
event. The cast member told me, "My computer is frozen. Let me
transfer you to another agent." ARGH! I thought that I'd
be put into Phone Queue Purgatory, but I was lucky.

The second agent had a little trouble finding stuff, but once I
gave her my credit card info, the rest of the bookings were
relatively a breeze. Except one. I was going to book for
3 people, and only 2 spots were open. I booked the 1 spot
for myself then booked our alternate FWP for 3 people.

I don't know if it was easier for me because I only needed one
spot, or not. This is what I have:

11/7 L&L with Brooke Vosika, and the Sweet Sunday
11/8 Mitsukoshi FWP
11/10 Brewers Dinner (American)
11/11 Le Cellier FWP
11/12 Coral Reef FWP (for me and two friends)
11/13 Bistro de Paris FWP (and my birthday!)

I was almost going to book the Tour de France EEE on 11/7, but I
decided to do two events instead.

Howdy every,

Congrats on everyone getting what they wanted and sorry to all of those who didn't.

I called at 7am and got right thru. I got the brewers dinner for 10/20 at the Rose & Crown.

I aslo got right thru yesterday for CRT.

I can't wait for October.

Bye,
Frank:jester:

I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get thru right away today - and I got all of the Food and Wine Bookings that I wanted ( 3 PFS, 1 L & L, 3 Food and Wine Pairings, 1 brewer's dinner, 1 wine school and 1 Signature dinner) ------ I remember last year's ressie day - it was a fiasco - waited on hold for over an hour - then only got 2 /6 events. Thank Goodness Disney learned their lesson about the number of callers!!

Congrats to everyone who got their bookings and to those who didn't - keep calling - especially as it gets closer to the 72 hour cancellation --- last year I was able to pick up 3 of the events that were sold out as it got closer to the actual festival!! Jill

Oh - about the Chefs at the PFS - last year I went to 2, and the Chef's (and wineries) that were at the Lunch and Learns and Sign. dinners on that same weekend were also at the PFS - so you can get an idea by looking at those for who will be there.

We'll be at the same Food and Wine Pairing!! We managed to talk my (childless) sister and BRIL into watching our 5 yo son. What are you doing with yours?? The other dinners and PFS that we are going to, DS will be going to Neverland - which is his favorite place at WDW anyway!! Jill

I got the L&L with Paula too! I am so excited! Also got the F&W pairings for LeCelleir and Coral Reef- very happy Sheila
