Got my CROCS--They Stink. Really...........

Whew! PU! Such a STRONG odor! Sort of on the mothball side.

That being said--I LOVE THEM! I feel like I am walking on air. Some other observations.....

1--They are very static-y. I just got them 15 minutes ago and they are already attracting dog hair.

2--They run big.

3--They really, really STINK. I am typing right now and the stench is making my eyes water and stomach churn. I am going to put them out on the back porch to air out.

4--They are so ugly, they look COOL

5--Comfy beyond belief. I'll take the stink for comfort. What is a gag or two, here and there?

Is it stinky from the actual shoes or stinky from sweaty feet? Do your feet sweat in them at all? I'm hearing conflicting reports on the sweaty feet issue.

I'm thinking of getting these, but my feet sweat big time and I don't want stinky feet/shoes considering these are a rubber kind of material.

No, no. No sweaty feet.

As soon as I opened the box, the smell hit me. It is the actual shoe that smells. Like a sweet mothball. I just made myself laugh out loud by typing that. But that is the best way to describe the smell.

Am I the only one that got smelly CROCS?

I want to like these shoes, I really do. But I just can't bring myself to buy them! They just aren't my style!

I tried on a pair yesterday at Hallmark. Though they do seem comfortable, I can't bring myself to buy a pair. I do like funky shoes, but these may be a little too funky for me.

I'm thinking the smell will go away. Like when you buy new tires and you have the spare in the tire holder and it smells. But eventually it stops smelling.

Ok, now that we now it's the actual shoes that stink, here's what I suggest and this does work BTW.

Take the shoes, put them in a large ziploc bag with a small bowl of fresh coffee grounds. Close the bag and leave them in the bag overnight. The coffee grounds should absorb the smell right out. Try it out.

Maybe a silly question but does anyone know if these shoes have Latex in them?

I know some rubbery shoes do and from what I can see of these shoes they are pretty rubbery, correct?

Nope NOT Rubber more like thick foamy stuff. It's a resin (so they say on they're website) that doesn't keep in bacteria...very good for professionals in Dentist/Hospitals etc... and thus DO NOT smell (as in sweaty feet smell).

I just got mine today. They did smell too, almost sweet but not over powering and luckily not moth balls The words not out yet on whether I love them or not. I let you know...

BUTT ugly! But, I am a recovering KEEN addict and they are also ugly shoes. So, I suppose I am a Sweet MothBall Smelling-Ugly Shoe Wearer--Anyone else want to join the club?

All kidding aside, they are sort of miracle shoes. They feel beyond comfy. And are great for wide widths too!

that ppl have sited them all over from Hallmark to Dillards to Bass Pro Shop. I'm in Canada and they are not too readily available here yet so I ordered mine from rei.com.

I wanted the orange too (they call it Coral) but I had to settle for Red that was available in the style I ordered. Godd Luck. They seem to be "miracle shoes." My jury's not out yet
