I was lucky enough to get in (one of the last 30 people). It was a very good and informative meeting. There was a HUGE crowd, I estimated about 500 in the room we were in, Roy said another 600! had to be turned away. Before the meeting you had to register and you recieved a bag with a savedisney t-shirt, pen, button, pin, bumper sticker and card to write down a question. All of the things in the bag were very nice, I was suprised they gave all that stuff to everyone who made it in.
The meeting started off with a video of people reading their t heir concerns and thoughts on the current situation then Staney Gold came out and spoke. He just gave a general overview of what was going to happen ect...
Next up was some guy (forgot his name) who went through some slides of Disneyland from its early years.
Michael Mendenhall (sp?) then gave a powerpoint presentation on the numbers and facts about Disney's sliding performance with its stocks. He clearly showed how Disney's performance has been slowly declining over the past eight years.
There was a short video before Roy came up to spoke, they also showed his video which was recently sent out to everyone through savedisney.com. Next up was Roy who recieved a standing ovation and he made his remarks. Basically just going through their stance on everything. He joked around a lot and was actually pretty funny at times. You oculd really tell that he cares about Disney.
The Q&A session was next and was the most informative part of the whole session. I'm sure there will be a transcript posted somwhere but each of them went into detail about Comcast, who should succede Eisner ect...
I'll have some pictures posted soon. I thought it was a very informative and well put together meeting. I just wish they would have had more space for everyone to get in.
