Got into Grand Californian!!

Was able to book our trip for the summer (JULY 2017) at the Grand Californian (studio). Wanted a 5 nights but was able to get 4. I'm not complaining by any means. I realize how difficult it to secure a reservation. Merry Christmas to me!!!

awesome, when we tried for a studio, we ended up with a one bedroom but loved it even though it was a lot of points

@ bang123 - I didn't want to use all my points for a 1bedroom this time. Trying to save points for Hawaii.

Nice! I know how exciting that is. I got into grand cal for June 2017. I needed two studios but they were long gone before my 7 month window. However I was able to get 3 of the 4 nights I wanted in a 2 bedroom. I was sooo excited! I hope you have a wonderful trip!

So happy for you! We also scored 4 nights in a Studio in July. I was quite surprised. We've generally had good luck at the 7th month mark but not in July. We could bookend either ebd of the stay in a larger villa and moving doesn't bother me, it's the points I don't want to spend.

Congratulations! I know how you feel - we scored our first trip there last summer and it was amazing! Getting a room there the time you want feels like winning a small lotto jackpot! Enjoy!

We were able to get a studio for early Nov 2016. We were only able to get 4 nights, so we stayed off-site for the first part of our trip. The off-site hotel was fine, but I LOVED staying our last 4 nights at VGC!!! It was our first time staying there. It really is an amazing place to stay.

One important piece of info we learned: on the days when you get the extra hour for DCA, if the line is long for the VGC entrance into DCA, walk around to the front park entrance. It will be faster.

I even purchased new Disney luggage. Doubt if I will use it on the plane. I will take it with me in May when we stay at Poly since we are driving.
