Yahoo! Thanks to many who shared, I knew the secret: only 3.5 star in MCO area with tennis nearby and now I got it for the Saturday after our cruise for $93! Great deal. Thanks all - and passing the tip to keep it alive! Lisa

OK...fill me in...how is this working??? Is there a chance I could get it for the friday before our cruise?? Any other details would be GREAT!!

I did a search and many members wrote that if you go to hotwire (not priceline) and look for a 3.5 star hotel in the MCO area that lists tennis nearby as an amentity, that it will be the Hyatt MCO. So for the past six months, I kept checking but either the 3.5 star hotel was listed at $150+ or not listed. As others wrote, it came up right before my cruise (we sail on 1/20). Tonight, I went on line to do my nightly check but this time there was a hotel listed for 3.5 star with tennis nearby. Shuttle service will be listed - don't that throw you off! Anyway, if your cruise isn't for awhile and you for sure need to stay there you might want to reserve a room with a 24 hour cancellation and then keep checking hotwire. I have heard some people get it for less than $70! Hope I was clear. Lisa

Has anyone had any luck with hotwire and the resorts close to the port? We need to stay someplace the two nights before our cruise and I thought it might be interesting to give hotwire a shot.

Thank you so much! We are booked there before our May cruise at $160 a night. I'll keep checking - I found it easily with your descriptions...right now its showing $174 for my night. Hopefully it'll come down...any money saved means more I can spend on the cruise!

Thanks for the info. We're staying there before our cruise in mid-Feb for much more than that. I'll take your advice and keep checking, hoping for a lower price as we get closer.:thumbsup2

When is your cruise? We usually book through the Hyatt website to get the points for free stays but the rate has been going up so much every year so now I'm looking at Hotwire too.

Can someone clarify this for me: is this the hotel in the airport??

Thanks!

It's completely sold out for the night before our cruise, Feb. 2, both on Hyatt's website and not listed at all on Hotwire.
Oh well.:sad1:

Just a few questions....
I think I have the Hyatt as 98 for the friday we fly in. But, where can you eat supper that is near by? and do they offer breakfast in the morning???

I did end up booking.. 98.67 for this friday night.. not a bad deal at all!!!!!
That is about what we were going to pay for about a 2 star with a shuttle. I think getting off the plane and being able to walk tot he hotel is a big plus for us on such a busy travel day.

Has anyone been successful in booking the Hyatt during the week? I noticed that the good rates on Hotwire have been around the weekend; Fri/Sat, Sat/Sun, Sun/Mon. We will be doing a land/sea, arriving on Wednesday. Thanks.

Here is a pic of the hotel from standing inside the airport. What you see is the interior rooms. There are other rooms that face the runway, which is what we always request so we can watch the planes land and take off.

Here is a link to the airport restaurants--and shops. The Hyatt has a breakfast buffet in Hemispheres which is pretty limited and expensive. I would opt for a quick bite downstairs in the terminal. Hope this helps!

Sorry the pic is so big. If I can figure out how to resize it, I will.

I am looking to stay over 2/9. Quote on Hyatt's web site is $329/night!!! Nothing on hotwire yet, but I will sure keep checking. Right now I am booked at the Radisson at the port for $129/night, so I'll stick with that if all else fails. Thanks for the info!

O.K., I must be the record holder here: back in 2002 I got the Hyatt MCO for $48 on Hotwire.

I know you can get to the hotel from inside the airport....but are you able to leave the "hotel" and get back into the airport to get to the shops for example without any problem with security???

It was listed as sold out for a few weeks for 1/19 but then it opened up. I am thinking that since many ships use this hotel, they might limited how many reservations they will take until they get in those commitments. Maybe keep checking! Good luck.

We cruise in 9 days 16 hours...but who is counting:rotfl2:
