So we booked our cruise in April.. .for 10/28/2012.
We called that day to book the wedding.

They said, no reservations for the wedding till 1 year in advance.

I called again in May, June, July just to confirm that was still the case.
Yep... not till late Octoboer 2012 can we book that cruise.

I didn't call in August... got a flyer in the mail today for the Disney Movie club, so that reminded me to call..

So I call today... and found out the Island is now completely booked, with several people on the waiting list... And because of our party size (we have nearly 50)... we are on the edge off being too big for the ship wedding.

So too anyone making plans for the wedding on board... call every single day... Don't miss out on what you want.

Oh my, I'm so sorry, I don't know what to say:sad1:. Did they change the policy or just make an exception to let someone book early? If it was an exception doesn't seem fair that's you'd been calling and been told you had to wait :sad2:.

I am not sure at this point...
The first level phone person, could only tell me it was already reserved.
Not details on when it was reserved.

So I grabbed up the on-deck ceremony.

Hopefully I can get some more answers in 1-3 days, when the wedding cordinator calls. (which is a whole other level of frustration).

Could be worse...
I just read the forum post about the entire cruise that was canceled... just one week before ours (because someone rented the entire boat out).

Oh man!! I'm so sorry. I hope it all works out and you get the location you actually want.

I am so sorry this has happened to you and hope you get it sorted out!!!

I'm also planning a cruisewedding and read about the canceled cruise. I have yet to get any info from the planner as to if that could happen if a wedding was booked maybe if you get a hold Shanda before me you could ask and post it.

If you want to book a cruise wedding you should really be working with a Disney wedding travel agent, I have a great person in mind if you would like to use her! I was able to book more than 12 months out, and yes the island goes the fastest as their is only one slot available per cruise..

Also you should check out passporters guide on DCL weddings for more advice.

Sorry this happened to you, I know it was VERY stressful ironing out our day as well...

PM me if you are interested in the travel agent.
