Got DS's Autograph Book Done!!!!!

I'm leaning heavily on making my girls' autograph books through Artscow vs. spiral binding my printed version. If I saved autograph pages from Natalie's photobucket by clicking on it twice to get it to its full image and saved it as a jpeg picture file, will I be able to upload them onto Artscow from a picture file, or would it be better to download them into a documents/download file and then use them that way? I want to do it right before I embark on this project even if it means going through the photobucket again and downloading them vs. saving them the way I already have.

Second question: if I make one book for one of my girls and then want to change the title page for my other daughter so that they each have their name on it, will I be able to use the first book as a template and modify it, then order the second book? Or will I have to start from scratch making the second book? Seems time consuming to have to start all over if only changing one page.

Thanks for the help!!!! I greatly appreciate all of the DISigners and everyone that is so helpful on this board. :)

Did you know you can download the whole album through photobucket? Then you could just save them to a folder and delete or move the ones you didn't want. They would all be the actual size and then you could just upload the whole folder to artscow. If you are unsure if they are saved to the right size this might be a good option. Also you can just change the one page..once you "build" an album you can go back and change what ever you like. Hope this helps!!!

Wow! Great info, danagirl. I did not realize you could download the whole album from photobucket. Is there a certain way to do this, or once I get on Natalie's photobucket site will I be able to "see" what steps to follow? Downloading all of it at one time would save a ton of time.

These books are amazing I really want to make them now for DD and DS:)

Wendy, that book looks terrific! Nettaboo, yours does, too!

Thanks so much for posting this. I had never heard of artscow. I made an autograph book for our two character meals at Snapfish which came out great, but I think I'll look into making another at artscow, since the price is so good.

Was the free shipping a special deal or do they always have free shipping?

Ok, last question. We have a trip scheduled for mid June. I noticed wendypooh said her shipping time was around a month. I've heard others say artscow takes a long time. Would it possibly take longer? Don't want to embark on the project for it to take two months to ship--if that's the case, I will have already missed the cut off date.

I ordered mine on 2/18 it shipped on 3/03 and I got them on 3/17...hope this helps...they say 14 business days from shipping date.

Wendy, I know you mentioned at the time you didn't have the character meals so you didn't include those in your book. I'm looking at making a book and right now I have it around 55 pages long ( I know, it's a lot--it's hard to know who to weed out). Anyway, if I add character meals, it would make it about 20 pages bigger. Having yours now, would you have added it all in one book or do you think that would make the book too thick, so instead make a separate character meal book? I've read all of this thread and I know you addressed this some where, but don't recall where so sorry to ask again. Anyway, I don't like the idea of lugging two books around, but on the days we don't have character meals, it would be nice to have less bulk. I'm just worried a 75 page book is going to be really thick. Thoughts from Wendy or anyone who has printed one from Artscow would be great!

I think it was just a special thing going on............. when I ordered his passport - shipping was NOT free - but, the total was only $13.98 - that was (I think - don't remember without looking) around 40 pages or so............

I would say - at least a month from placing the order to getting it............ however - it could VERY EASILY be longer than that - I'd advise giving yourself NO LESS than a month - but order as soon as you possibly can. They are in Hong Kong - so shipping takes a LONG time!

I would absolutely have added them - the book is NOT big or bulky or anything - it's the perfect size - I don't think adding 75 pages will be a problem for you - as you are putting images on the front and back of pages - it won't really be as thick as you think. I'd do it.............. :goodvibes

Thanks for the quick response, Wendy. I know in the end I will be happier having one book w/ characters & character meals combined, but I was worried about the thickness but you've put me at ease. I appreciate your help!

Hi, Can you post or do you have it posted somewhere the Star Wars weekend picture on the front of the book? (I did not see it in your 4share account)
I would love to put it on a shirt.

Thanks a bunch!!

Oh for goodness sakes! And here I was downloading 1 photo at a time, slowly, slowly... :rotfl:

Thanks for letting us know!!!

Hello. Kind of new to the boards and checking out all the dsigns- so much fun! I have been browsing through a lot of peoples projects, your book looks great. I had a couple of questions. Will snapfish print these books with the disney characters in them? or is that why you're using this other company? Can you put photos on the front cover or even better a photo collage? Did you make your EPCOT passport book 5x7 too? Sorry for so many at once, but any info would be great, and thanks.

I'm so frustrated!!!!!!!! Just went on to Artscow and attempted to make my girls' autograph books. I'm doing something wrong, but not sure the route to fix it. I uploaded all of the autograph pages. Then I clicked, dragged, and dropped the pictures on the page I wanted them to be. The pictures are getting cut off. Example, Pluto's nose was cut. The bottom edge of Goofy's name was cut, so I'm guessing clicking and dragging to take up the entire page won't work. I've seen someone else's book done like this on a diff. thread and it did.
Wendy, I noticed your book had a border around it. I know it's not a true border, but just blank edging on the page. Did you choose a particular layout format that changed it to look like that? If so, do you recall the layout? I played around w/ diff. layouts, but noticed the picture was really tiny. By pulling on the arrows off to the sides of the picture I could extend it to make it larger. It gave me size dimensions or number values so I could repeat on other pages so they would be uniform, but the more I played w/ it the worse it looked. In addition to the layout you chose, what size did you make the pictures? I'm sorry to trouble you with these specifics. Since you already have your book, you may not have access to finding the info out, and I know it would be timely to look it up. I so badly wanted to get a lot done on the book tonight only to encounter a road block. Thanks for your help!

give me a min...I will see if I can help...

Can I ask what happens when you push the zoom out key? Its in the rt corner... That is how I usually get the pages smaller but now when i push it it says empty...which might be a glitch or something I don't know.

Thanks, Dana. I appreciate the help. Don't spend too much time playing with it, though; I feel bad already asking so many questions tonight and now I'm bothering you all w/ this layout issue. I know it's something simple I'm doing wrong. I chose the 5 X 7 book, and thought I could just drop the pictures on the page. Wrongo! Some, like Mickey, looked fine. Others, like Pluto and Minnie, you could really tell an ear or part of a nose was chopped off. I feel like I'm just waisting time trying to find that just right layout type or whatever else the trick is to make this book work because everything ends up not looking quite right. How can something so simple be so difficult? I am irritated w/ myself for not knowing how to make it right w/out spending an enormous amt. of time on it, so I turned you guys the experts. Thanks!
