I just learned about the change in WDW dining reservations to 180 from 90 days. I called this am with no wait and got lunch at Cindys for our March trip.
I was not planning on making any reservations until December, but decided to check out the boards to see if anything was new/had changed.

Many thanks to those of you who posted the new rules! :sunny:

That's great. I plan on reserving for our march trip to and was hoping it would not be to late. :Pinkbounc

I'm going in Feb I didn't have any trouble getting the time I wanted, but not going there this go around!! refuse to pay for a meal before I get it :rolleyes1

Think Mastercard Ad: ;)

Princess Meal at the castle for 3 > $100. (With full refund available up to 24 hours before ressie per CM this morning). :rolleyes1

Memories with little one from breakfast...priceless. princess:

I think with the increase in price people who have been there, done that will not be going back. I for one won't pay the new prices.

Not surprised at all that it was easy to get. I believe it will be from now on after February 1, because of the price increase and because it's 180 days out and many still do not know.

I'll be eating there for the last time at the end of this month. NO WAY would I pay the new prices and pre-pay to boot!

Enjoy!

I am FREAKING out beacuse I want to eat breakfast in the castle the first week of March and I haven't reserved it yet. The problem is, I don't have a credit card. SO, I applied for a Disney Visa just so I can eat in the castle but it won't be coming for about 30 days. It is almost making me sick to think that the castle is filling up and I can't eat there just because my credit card hasn't arrived yet! I am so worried that when I get my credit card and call to make my ADR they will be booked. I am jealous of all you people getting the ADR's you want, but I guess you are the smart ones who have your credit cards....

If you have a debit card that works where Visa does you could use that.

Buy a prepaid Visa gift card at Wal-Mart (or your bank, etc.). Then when they ask for your Visa number, you just give them the number off the gift card. Easy Shmeezy.

Will there be a price increase at all of the character meals or just the ones held in Cinderella's Castle? I guess it is an exercise in supply and demand.

Okay, I am not familiar with this. What is it exactly? Could I go to Wal-Mart and get one on the same day or is it a deal where you have to wait for them to mail it to you?

I think at Wal-Mart they are up by the check outs. I know I can also get them through my bank or from AAA. It's the same as buying a gift card for someone, but they are valid Visas, with Visa account numbers. For example, if you don't want to take your actual Visa on vacation, you can go buy a Visa gift card for the amount of money you need, and take that prepaid card. It works exactly like a Visa. My dh has one that his company bought for him and he gets his bonuses added onto it. It's not a real Visa because he can't go beyond the amount of money he has on the card, but he can use it wherever Visa is accepted.

I agree! I'm eating there with my mom Dec 14th and again with my 9 y/o GD Jan 4th, but won't be back. I've already ate there twice this year (Jan and Sept). With the price increase and them refusing the DDE card, it's just not worth it to me. In fact the day I heard about the changes, I had to call Disney dining anyway to see about a later time for the Fantasmic Pkg and while I had the CM on the phone I had him verify that none of the changes would affect either of my ADRs. He assured me the price change and their refusal of the DDE card would not take effect until Feb 1st and also that Cindy would still be making the rounds upstairs. Since then I've read a post stating Cindy was already downstairs when they went and the only Princesses upstairs were Belle and Aurora (along with Peter Pan and Mary Poppins).

This thread cracks me up. ;) I posted it to thank the people on these boards for sharing the ADR timing change from 90 days to 180 days. Also, I wanted to let people who are going to WDW in the next 180 days know that it was easy for me to get an ADR for Cindys.

The price increase does not matter to me. I do not mind prepaying. I do not care if the princesses are in the reception area or in the actual restaurant (we have attended this event at least a half dozen times in the last couple of years, and each time it is a bit different). If those things are important to you and you object, enjoy another restaurant or send a letter to Disney. I think it is basic economics (supply and demand), and I am amazed that it has taken Disney this long to raise the price, change the reservation rules and add the princesses to more meals than breakfast.

Stitch 1404, I hope that things work out so you can get the ADR you would like.

Love it! Looking forward to one little priceless princess moment! princess:

I just went to my bank today and got a debit card. I raced home and called Disney Dining and got breakfast on Feb. 26th at 8:10!!!!!!!! I am SOO excited, I never thought it would work. Just had some pixie dust sprinkled on my day! They only offered me one other time, 9:40, so it is booking up...

I made my ADR for CRT too, and I agree with MJS. I haven't been to Disney before so I don't care how much it costs (within reason). The look on my girls' faces to meet their all time favorite princesses will be priceless. I can understand the veterans, who have been there done that, might be a little sticker shocked but for me it's worth every prepaid dime!!!!! :flower:

"i don't care how much it costs"... isn't that the motto on the sign you go under when you get to wdw?
:rotfl:

i think many are just upset it went up in price and now are miffed...don't let it bother you. if grandbaby wants to go once she even realizes what princesses are i know i'll cave and spend it :guilty:
