We had the best time ever! :teeth:

Great weather, good food and of course fantastic entertainment. :wizard: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I'll be starting some trip reports when I've finished the mountain of ironing.

I'm back to work tomorrow and DS and DD are back to school so I'd better get some clothes together that are suitable for drizzle. :sad2:

Briefly though highlights were light crowds, Discovery Cove, La Nouba, Perkins all day breakfast, family fun! :grouphug:

Any questions, I'll do my best!

Regards
Rosie

Hi Rosie,
Welcome home, hope you've not got the blues too bad. Glad you had a great time.

A couple of questions if you will:
Just how good is La Nouba? It was voted the number 1 must see while we were over there last year but we didn't get around to seeing it. Also, what are the new attractions like in the variuos WDW parks.

We are going back in November (can't wait) so any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome home Rosie

I'm glad you've had such a great time and I can't wait to see your trip reports

Hi Darth Turnip

La Nouba is like Peter Greenaway does Circus. (If you don't know Peter Greenaway he is a British film Director - very arty and visually stunning who uses classical music in his films to dramatic effect) If that makes it sound arty farty and inaccessible don't worry - it isn't. :) Everyone is spellbound throughout the performance and if you are lucky enough to see it you will appreciate how influential it has been. It is pricey but it is world class entertainment and my DS and DD 10 and 8 both rated it in their top 10, which surprised me considering how high the standard of attractions is.

New stuff? Hmm this was our first trip so I'll try to remember what was shown as new and rate how much my family enjoyed. ;)
MK Mickey's philharmagic 5/5 :teeth:
Stitch's Great escape 1/5 :confused3
Wishes 5/5 :cheer2:
Epcot Mission Space two 5/5 two 1/5
Journey to imagination 3/5 :)
Turtle talk with crush 5/5 :lovestruc
MGM Parade - didn't see
Playhouse Disney - didn't see
AK Parade - didn't see
Primeval whirl 4/5 :rotfl:
Universal studios The Mummy 3/5 :bitelip:
Islands of Adventure ?

We didn't get to try Soarin as I couldn't persuade family back to Epcot - still that gives a reason to return as if we need one!

Also with a name like yours I'm guessing your a Star Wars fan, and if so you'll be pleased to know that fastpass is back for Startours.

Have a great trip!

Rosie

Hey Rosie and Co - welcome back, seems like you had a great trip. Are you planning for the next one yet ;)

I'm intrigued with some of your family's scores - especially for two new attractiions since our last visit -

Stitch's Great Escape and The Mummy

Would love to know your views on these and why (especially Stitch) you didn't seem to think they were too great.

Also, what's the Turtle Talk with Crush?? Sounds fascinating!

Thanks,
Annie

Hi Rosie,
Great to hear that you had a fantastic time.
I see that you have mixed scores for Mission Space. This is one I have yet to decide whether to go on as I'm not great with "whizzy" rides. The rest of the family are keen to try but I don't want to spoil the rest of the day by feeling ill. I've been reading other threads on the subject and would be interested in your comments.
Also, did you drive along the 192 ? (not sure where you stayed). Are the road works still there, if so how bad are the delays? We shall be staying at Lake Berkley, the turn for which is between Medieval Times and Walmart, will they affect us?

Welcome Home Rosie:wave2:

Sounds like you've had a great holiday. Looking forward to reading more about it.

Looking forward to reading your reports, especially your day at Discovery Cove. We go there for the first time in July. I hope you are not feeling too down after your holiday, I always do. :)

Welcome back.

Any tips or do's and don'ts for Discovery Cove will be more than welcomed. It will be our first time in June.

Is mission space any good for a 7 year old, she not keen on roller coasters but loves things like splash mountain and tower of terror.?

Welcome home Rosie!

Sounds like you had a great trip :)

I would love to see your Trip Reports :)

Hi to all who asked some questions,

Briefly - Stitch didn't entertain us or make us laugh, the seats were the most uncomfortable we've ever endured and we all agreed when we came out we would rather have seen Mickey's philharmagic again rather than that. The Mummy is good enough and some of the effects are great - we thought it was over too quickly and didn't quite live up to the hype.

Mission Space - I gave it 5 as did DS10 but DD8 and DH felt nauseous and just couldn't wait to get out. My DD8 went on all the big rides without problems but Mission Space seems to be different. I think you just have to try it.

Turtle talk was in a league of its own. Crush ( the cool turtle from Finding Nemo ) is in his tank within the living seas at Epcot. A small audience sits near the tank and Crush interacts with them. Crush is animatronic and looks and sounds exactly as he does in the film. The conversations follow a plan of sorts but each time it is different because of the audience and their input. Its cute funny and probably the best character based attraction at any of the parks.

Traffic - we stayed north of the 192 and only went that way outside of peak times really. I didn't notice any hold ups when we were around that part of Town and didn't hear of any serious hold ups on the local news in the mornings. There are some threads about the roadworks on this board if you do a search, because I think we were there at a fairly quiet time.

Wow - I got to the PC before the kids today! I might just start those trip reports now!

Hi Rosie

Welcome back!!

We're off to Discovery Cove in July for the first time. Like others any tips and views would be great.

Thanks

Hi Rosie

I got back last Friday after a two week trip. Just wondering what you thought of the crowds and queues?
I found it very heavy going compared with last time I went (october)
The parks were too busy for me and many of the queues were for 60 mins.

I wont be going back in April again !!

Hi Bozzly

I thought crowd wise it wasn't too bad overall. We visited all the Disney parks in our first week - before the New York Spring Breakers arrived, and we walked on to almost everything. ::MickeyMo
The second week was a different story. We went to Busch Gardens on Monday, Islands of Adventure Tuesday and also found no real lines. Wednesday we tried to return to AK and MGM but they were heaving so we went to Typhoon Lagoon and just did Blizzard Beach and Disney Quest the Thursday.
On the Friday ( our return day) we went to Sea World to re - view Pets Ahoy and that too was very busy. I did gather from these boards that the second week of our trip could be busy but I wasn't prepared for the crowds we met at AK and MGM. :earseek:

I hope you still had a good time - at least we got good weather! :sunny:

Rosie

Great to hear you had a wonderful.
Just one thought, hurry up and finish that ironing so that you can gives us a fix of trip report ;)

Reid

:cool1: Hi Rosie, Can't wait to read your reports. Just wondered what your fav eating experiences were and you mentioned Perkins, never been to one before and were thinking of trying it this year. What do you think?
Take care
Nicky

Hi,

For Discovery Cove, arrived at least 1/2 hour before the stated opening time. The dolphin swin is allocated on a first-come first-served basis. They tend to be more active in the morning and it also allows you to see the rest of the park at your leisure without clock watching. They don't allow you to take cameras into the pool for the swim (probably something to do with them trying to sell you the video and photos! :sad2: ). Food is great quality and plentiful, but your only allowed one visit, so stock up ;) .

Enjoy

Hi Laudan14, I think your daughter will love Mission Space. We went on it last year with our (then) 8 year old Son and it was his favourite ride of the trip. He too is a little scared of the bigger roller coasters but this is more of a simulator. Personally I thought it was great but the Tower of Terror bothered me the most. :earseek:

Mission Space is a simulator with no big drops, it just simulates G-Forces. Go for it, it is amazing.
