We were on the Wonder on the March 17 cruise. Do you encounter, or hear of anyone getting the Norwalk Virus? We (all 3 of us) got it on the last night of the cruise. Just wondering.
Hi Madden6 -- I am not the original poster, but we just returned from the 3/26 cruise and were in Grand Cayman on Tuesday 3/29. There is still plenty of evidence of damage -- torn up landscape, roofs missing, etc. But it doesn't take away from the experience. We did a Sting Ray City and snorkel tour that we booked on our own with Captain Bryan's, and it was absolutely lovely. Nice boat, very informative, everything was well run. The day we were in port, there were 6 additional cruise ships -- it was a very crowded day in the main shopping area, especially with so many people stranded because of the difficulty with returning to the ship.
Feel free to PM or post again if you have more questions.
We never had dinner at Topsiders. We had breakfast a couple of times, and lunch on Wednesday (Cozumel) and Thursday (sea day). On all occasions, the food was good, plentiful, with lots of variety to please everyone.
Went on the stingray tour with Captain Marvins. Bought thr dvd that the diver took . excellent quality ( got it in the mail last Tuesday). 2nd time we have used Captain Marvins ( did the 8:00 a.m. tour). Only had breakfast at Topsiders.
We were on the 2nd sailing after GC was opened for buisness in November and the shopping was limited and expensive. Food on the island was sparce.....have they recovered from that? Was Hard Rock opened? I t wasn't when we were there.....
We were in Grand Cayman the week of March 13 on RCCL. The day we were there the seas were rough and tendering in was stopped at noon. Several who went to the beaches said they were not in very good shape. The seas were rough for the snorkeling and stingray tours.
There were 7 ships that day and that is too crowded there for me. No room to walk, people bumping into each other and walking in the street with all the crazy drivers.
We did go to the butterfly farm and did the semi submerged boat. They were both very nice and relaxiing. However, I was glad to get back to the ship and away from the crowds.
