4 days and 3 nights at Surf Watch at Hilton Head.

Cost is $199 plus I get 7,500 Marriott points.

I am a DVC member (and will may remain so) but is ironic I got this after I joined.

Is this a good price for the introduction?

I have to attend a 90 minutes meeting.

Retail is up to $935 per the brochure.

Go For IT !!!!!!

I had a Marriott offer @ the Orlando location:
$99. weekend, $50. cash, AND, 10,000 Marriott points and yes..a 90 min presentation.

I went...was a nice place..I told the salesman I was only here for the perks...really!! When the salesmen couldn't "move" me to buy, after about 1 hr., he gave up and I got all my perks!!!!

BTW...I traveled the world when I worked..@ Marriott's and loved them

Now...Im lucky to have retired last year, never used any of my Marriott points
and have ...you ready???.. over 2 million to enjoy ! YIPEE !!!!!!

Of course..there's my DVC too!!

I got basically the same offer recently. Could not figure why I got offer because I had not done any traveling recently. About a week later, I got letter fron DVC saying that my deed was recorded on date x (cannot remember specific date now). The post mark on the Marriot offer was date x plus one day. Seems somebody is searching public records for new members.

Check the info, you will likely be staying at a hotel like Fairfield and not at Surfwatch. I own there if you were staying there, jump on the offer.

The offer we got (yes, just right after our first DVC deed was recorded last week) is for accommodations at the Hilton Head Marriott Beach and Golf Resort. Anyone familiar with this resort?

We were planning to spend a few days at HH next December, as we will be traveling east for Christmas at my brothers home in North Carolina. We may take them up on this offer and save our DVC points.

It's the old Hyatt near the DVC Beach House. It's a nice hotel but I think if you read carefully, they have the right to substitute other hotels.

Since joining DVC three years ago, we have gotten a lot of those offers. They look through public records and other sources to determine that you are a vacation club/timeshare owner. Obviously, they think you must want another one.

We have had Marriott offers for several places, including Hawaii. We have also gotten Hilton offers in Arizona and Florida. Unfortunately, they always seem to come at a bad time, either because of work or money. So we haven't been able to take them up on it.

We wouldn't really be interested in purchasing, so it makes me kind of squeamish to take them up on it anyway.

We've gotten those offers for years and we only joined DVC in February. So they must get their mailing lists from many sources. It's interesting however that the offerins always seem to come shortly after we come home from a FL vacation. :confused3

We got a lot of offers to sell our DVC right after we bought. One company sent us a letter every month asking if we wanted to sell. I finally called their 800 number and told them they we barking up the wrong tree... first we were not interested in sell and second if we did sell we had a broker we would use... They stopped sending us the mailing....

You've got to be kidding! Where do you own? Beach Club? Maybe your points are in high demand! Geesh, how annoying!

Actually it happens to a lot of owners at all DVC and many other resorts. A lot of these are offering to sell or rent your place, all you have to do is give them $399 (or whatever the price is that week) and they'll get you a lot more than you paid. Of course once you give them money, that's the last you hear from them. It's a scam.

We get the same letters. I believe they troll the county records and pick up deeds being recorded. Then you are in a database that is probably sold and then its off to the races. Good luck getting your name off.

Major aiport is Savannah (SAV) about 40 miles away. There is a local airport closer (HHH).

You are right. I called and they said surfwatch will not open until June 2005 and I asked if I can get that when it opens and she was not too confident about that. Here were her picks.

1) Barony Beach Club (her #1).
2) Grande Ocean
3) Monarch.

She did not mention Harbour, Heritage or Sunset.

Does her ranking make sense?

Is there any one resort more kid friendly?

I am actually interested in buying a Marriot in HH, and I can't get them to send me an offer....

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :confused3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They must not want my money!
