expensive to fly to savannah from chicago.
Yes it is... lol Our Family of 5 can fly into MCO for around 850. Cheapest into SAV close to 1500 bucks.

When the kids get older we will drive to HHI... around 12-15 hours.

You are right. I called and they said surfwatch will not open until June 2005 and I asked if I can get that when it opens and she was not too confident about that. Here were her picks.

1) Barony Beach Club (her #1).
2) Grande Ocean
3) Monarch.

She did not mention Harbour, Heritage or Sunset.

Does her ranking make sense?

Is there any one resort more kid friendly?
First choice GO and second Barony. For other than dead winter, if you get those guaranteed at the $199, that is a whale of a deal if the travel were reasonable. You can get a 2 BR for a week in winter for about $400 or less. Just make sure they can't substitute on you.

I am actually interested in buying a Marriot in HH, and I can't get them to send me an offer....

They must not want my money!
Email me your name, address and phone and I'll submit it as a friend share through the website, if you want.

OK,

I am not the brightest :scratchin but I come around sooner or later. But, I think that Marriott could of done a better job explaining that you have to pay an extra $199 to get the 3 choices I listed. For 199 they will put you in a standard Marriott hotel not a vacation club resort. But it is supposed to be worth up to $935.

On Sunday, this was the first call to a sales person and when I hung up, I had no clue about the extra 199. I called today and spoke to someone who took out the time to state the finer points.

Marriott just sent a small card with a small brochure with some surfwatch photos. Looking at it, one might think that they want you to stay at surfwatch and to see if you would like it and become a member.

I like Disney's selling style better.

Sigh, all I seem to get all more offers for Orlando Marriotts.

I think I must have gotten 4 Grande Vista offers over the last 8 months.

Its is your responsibility to read the fine print. They want you to do the tour and possibly buy, not necessarily understand every detail. I know several that have signed up and couldn't book anything when they could go so they lost their initial investment. Disney is the exception in the timeshare world. That's why when I hear someone didn't understand a trivial points in DVC, I am laughing myself off the chair. Many who bought timeshares find themselves with something worth pennies on the dollar and with a total pack of lies from the sales agent. Overall Marriott is pretty reputable though, pretty close to DVC which is not always perfect either.

I was wondering what you decided to do JPC?
I was in HH last week and saw signs for Surfwatch all over!

I did get a chance to visit the Marriott Grand Ocean--very nice-big, lots od pools and vast ocean front property. I am not sure about Surfwatch-I am sure Dean would have that info.

We flew into HH from NYC. We had to switch to a prop plane in Charlotte. At the Charlotte airport I saw several kiosks w/ people offering deals to visit the Mariott Surfwatch-3/2 days/nights for $239 I think. I have never seen that in an airport. Also, often times if you go on the MVCI website you can sign up for a promo.

Our flight was about $1000 for 4 of us. More than Orlando, but not that bad considering we got right to HHI. The plane to HHI is a prop jet-so it is small. We left the island during TS Tammy and the pilot did a great job. The airport is so small and very convenient. It was very easy to arrive and get a car rental. Departure was just as easy.
