Got an email from Disney Destinations..

Like a pp mentioned.....I also get this email once a month. I've been getting them for quite some time now so now I know not to expect any PIN code as it's just an informational email :confused:. But both DH & I have received the free dining pin for Oct/Nov/Dec and I just received a 40% birthday pin code :)......but before we got these email pins, we never received any pin codes during the last 8 years we've been going to Disney :sad2:.

It's not a teaser, I get this once a month recently. You can access this same info they email you once you log in to you account and go to your My Disney Vacation section and click on Backstage Pass ;)
Yep.. this is just their standard monthly newsletter....

Log in at disney.com and click update profile. There are 2 boxes you can check or uncheck depending on if you want email from Disney or not. This is what it says next to each checkbox;

I'd like to receive occasional updates, special offers, and other information from The Walt Disney family of companies about their products and services.

.. Disney Insider - Get all the latest Disney news with this special newsletter delivered to your inbox every week. ..

So if you don't want to receive the Disney Hello uncheck the box or check it if you're not getting it and you want it.

I don't think any of us are saying we don't want it, we're just saying that it was random and were disappointed it wasn't a PIN. I've been a member on the Disney Destinations site for years and never received this email. Like I said above, too, only 2 members of our family received it. Over 10 of us are registered. (And yes, they have the option checked to receive things; we all get Disney Insider). The whole system just doesn't make sense.

I didn't say anyone said they don't want it, but now that you mention it, this is from your original post;

"WHAT?? I know about the upcoming events; you don't need to tell me! And, don't send me a HELLO! email if it's not going to have a PIN!"

The part I bolded makes it look like you don't want to receive the HELLO! email. The HELLO email will never have a PIN. They send those emails out separately.

I was offering the information on how to opt in or out of Disney emails to anyone who wasn't sure why they are or aren't getting them. It wasn't directed at you. It was just an FYI, don't take it personally.

Well great, I got the email for the new Video tool, thought it was cool, now I know the Disney Destinations name in my "sender' column is something to occasionally get excited about. LOL I think I liked my blissful ignorance in opening it. Now I'll be looking for it every time I open email

(to the poster who had no DSL for a day or so, good god, how did you do it? I would die without my internet, it's my connection to the outside world.)

The part from my original post that you bolded was sarcasm. Again, we're all just pointing out the the Disney Destinations system is flawed; the newsletters should at least go out to everyone (which, obviously they don't, even if you are registered to receive them). That's why many of us got our hopes up seeing that email.

Sarcasm doesn't come across so well via posts. I too would have assumed you wanted to be off this email list based on the previous (bolded) post.
