You're blonde?! What was up with my grammar in that question? What was I writing (at least you got what I said!)

Anyway, Claudia, sorry your foot surgery factored in negatively to your experience. There is also bus service from the RPR. You pick it up at the end of Tower 3, outside (go past Tchoup Choup so that it's on your left as you pass, and if you go to the end, that's where the bus stop is). It runs intermittently and only holds about a dozen people. Not many seem to know about it.

Sorry it rained on you too!

Our room must not have been renovated yet b/c it was dark burgandy.

Our Universal experience was good but factors other than the parks & hotel limited our positives.

Rain, rain, and more rain kept us more wet than Popeye's Barges. Did I mention that it rained?!?!?! I had foot surgery 7 weeks prior, so I was not a spry as usual on vacation and wet feet were problematic.

We also had not done enough research prior to our arrival and was not knowlegable about the water taxi schedules & the best/fastest way to and from the parks. My fault, I know. We used the much debated rickshaws on the path. A real blessing for me, especially after Dueling Dragons. The G's and turns really hurt! The Hulk did not give me any problems, though.

I think the rain prevented us from a normal day in the park. We found ourselves looking at the maps under cover and then going straight to the next ride or attraction. We never did have a time when we could just stroll and take in everything on along the way.

So..... other than the walking path and the water taxi, is there another way to the parks?

Yes, there is a bus too that will drop you off very close to Universal Studios.

My family of five was given an "upgrade" to a king suite a few weeks ago. We arrived after 4 pm and our club level room was not ready. We were tired from driving up from Key West and really wanted to get into our room. We were told that a manager was in our room right then and that housekeeping was getting it ready. We were told that our room would be ready in 20 minutes so they gave us some free drink coupons. One hour later our room still was not ready and we were told the exact same thing. We complained to the manager and this is when we were given the king suite as a choice. It was on the fifth floor so we had to ask to get club level access cards since our original reservation was for club level. We also were given a rollaway at no charge for the fifth person. After 3 calls, we finally got our rollaway at 9 pm and at check out we were charged for it. The front desk did remove the charge, however. The sofabed was horrible for two people. It caved in the middle. My daughter pulled the cushions on the floor and slept there. The noise from the elevators was very noticible in the sitting room part. We heard the dings at night as well as any traffic going down the halls. Several intoxicated people decided to hang out near the elevators at 2 am the first night. After the first night we got used to the noise and since we were only there for 3 nights we just dealt with it. I would never pay the price for a suite for these reasons unless it was for two people only. The bedroom part of the suite was very quiet and nice.

I'm not liking all these room switches at the RPR lately. What is going on there?

maybe with the impending renovations, they can suddenly find all this extra room :confused3 (mummy dust magic D):thumbsup2

Hi, we are a family of 5 (kids 12, 7 and 3) we were at the royal pacific at the end of May and were also offered an upgrade to a king suite. No mention of overcrowding or fire regs etc.........They were happy to supply a rollaway also.......

I wonder if the rules are being "shelved" due to the renovations?? :confused3

Maybe.....I don't know.......we had a fantastic stay but they are a little disorganized, on checking in they offered to bring our luggage right-up, they twice bought the wrong cases to our room, my husband had to go and identify our things himself!..........we have a common surname(it is Jones ....... but even so!........)
