Got a job at the Disney Store!

I got a call last week that I got the job at the Disney Store at the mall near my house! Since I was gone the day they called me (I was on my way to Detroit for the weekend), I called them back immediately on Monday and they said they would like me to start work on Sunday!

Because they kept calling the wrong number when they were trying to get a hold of me (I kept calling each day, but the person who was in charge of doing this was not in every time I called and they said they would call me back), they won't be able to put me into the system til tomorrow.

I just got off the phone with the person who will put me in the system and they said that I was the best one in the group interview and that I was very bubbly. I felt very honored and flattered that they felt that way.

Hopefully I will be able to start soon!

Thank you so much! It may only be a seasonal job, but it will be worth it.

I was looking at the mall website to see what stores were hiring and I saw that the Disney Store was hiring so I drove to the store, grabbed an application, filled it out and turned it back in the same day. They did have a little sign outside their store saying they were hiring.

Congrats! Have a fun time and don't let the grumpy people get to you...see if you can get them to smile by the time they leave. It can be a real challenge, but I'm sure you'll do great!

Thanks everyone! I've worked in retail for a few years so I'm hoping that experience will help me deal with all those Grumpys out there! Gotta kill them with kindness! I am very blessed to have this opportunity.

Have fun! I was a cast member and then an assistant manager at 3 Disney Stores in our area. Unfortunately they all ended up closing. I miss it so much! Best 8 years of my working career!!!!

I only worked for the stores for a couple of years, but I really enjoyed it.

I worked there as well, and miss it alot. The CM's I worked with were such good friends - we had a blast. I want to go back (a former cm and manager keeps asking me), but I work full time and can't commit to being on call on the weekends

I just lost the job a few hours ago because it would be hard to schedule me since I also accepted a second job (I have an orientation for that on Tuesday) and because they wouldn't be able to let me have my boyfriend's friend's wedding off. I only met his friend twice, but I promised him I would go. I am so devastated. I started tearing up on the phone and broke down when the call ended. They told me I could apply for a full/part time position if there is one available after the season.

I would drop my other job in a heart beat if I could, but they are letting me have the day of the wedding off and I hate to break a promise I made to my boyfriend even if he is ok with me missing it if it meant I could keep the job.

Sorry this happened to you but in my opinion, a job is more important than a person you met 2 times. If the friend is a nice guy, he would totally understand why you aren't able to be there. I think a lot of people will tell you the same thing, hopefully things don't get too mean.

I hope you reconsider. You seemed so excited in your first post when you said you got the job.

ITA. Your dbf will be fine at the wedding with his friends, it's not worth losing a job over.
