Got a Cricut!!

It ended up being $128.50 including shipping from a Seller on ebay.

I've been playing with and I love it!!! Seems like a lot of money for the machine and future cartridges but really, no more buying punches, cutting systems, Sizzix dies ... and the paper saver option!!!!


I have 1 question - with the blade set on 1 it's not cutting all the way through the cardstock but on 2 it's leaving marks on the mat. Is that normal? My Sizzix leaves marks on it's mat so I'm thinking it may be normal but I don't want to ruin the mat already.

congrats on your ew cricut - you will love it!!!
i think my blade is set on two - maybe change the pressure alittle - i wouldnt worry about marks on the matts - not a big deal-
the more you play with it the more you will love it
make sure you also check out the cricut site they have tons of great ideas on there too

I totally agree, you're going to LOVE your cricut! Its a bit costy, but really, totally worth the money in my humble opinion.

I agree with the first poster, adjust your pressure and your speed. I usually keep my speed to 3 and my pressure at 4. It depends on how thick your paper is to where you should put your blade depth at, but I think adjusting your pressure and speed will help you out. Read your manual as that will help a little and then head over to the cricut boards, they are a vaulable resource!

I got it all adjusted to where it's cutting perfectly. I was just using scraps to get a good feel for it and now I can't wait to make some things for my pages!

I took a Cricut class at LSS when I first got my bug and they said to leave your blade set on 6 and just change the pressure for different papers. And that's what I've done and I've had no problems. I have both Cricuts and LOVE them both.

I have my blade set and leave it at 6 as well. I'll switch it to the lowest number only when I want to see which way the design will go before I actually to the cut.
