The blog World Key had a post in which they talked about using Google's My Maps features to plan their Asia Disney adventure.

I thought this feature would be helpful for our upcoming Aulani vacation as well. In the custom map, people can create pins for destinations that you're interested in, while also creating different categories (called layers) for each one. It's great because they can look on the map to see where different things that they've created a pin for and then each pin contains information about the place; website, phone number, etc.
I've used it to create two categories so far, restaurants and activities. Whenever someone mentions something of interest here, I can create a pin for it in My Maps. Then when we're out on the island and we decide to eat dinner, I can see what is nearby.
