When they did the update from mullholland madness to Goofys- did they change the ride vehicles at all?? I know many plus size people had problems with them and didn't fit - just wondering if they updated these or they are the same ones just re-painted? Thanks.

Same ride vehicles. Same track. They just did a light re-theme which seemed to mostly involve painting and adding some billboards in the spirit of the old how-to/learn-to cartoons featuring Goofy.

One question (and sorry for hickjacking the post)... is Goofy's open? I thought I read a skiinfast post stating it was closed until summer, so I went to the Disneyland website and it says.. "this attraction will open this summer!". But maybe I got it confused???
thanks!

It's definitely open. It was re-opened as Goofy's Sky School in the summer of 2011. Maybe you were looking at a very old post?

It's open, we were there last in December and we rode it then. Cars are exactly the same, track is the same, it's just rethemed. It's fun tho, I laugh so hard when we go on that ride.....I don't do it all the time tho, it can make my tummy feel funny. LOL

I was riding it with my grand kids in January. My grandson is a little over 6' tall, he was sitting in the back, first person in seat. When we were beginning the ride where the car climbs the track, about 3/4 of the way up, there is a piece of metal sticking out. It missed him by only a few inches.... Kind of a shock!!

Same ride, always fun to ride and watch the riders as they go by..

I feel like I entered The Twilight Zone, I can almost swear I saw it in a recent post! But you are right, I must have saw an older post... :upsidedow

Whoooaaa! In the May Countdown thread, someone post this link: http://media.disneywebcontent.com/S...c/pdf/D-MailPDF/IntlDmailDLRefurbishments.pdf

and it says:
April 9 – June 1, 2012: Goofy’s Sky School will be closed for refurbishment.

What's going on?? :confused3

Well, a refurb is something different. Refurbs are just for routine maintenance and upkeep. You asked if it was open, and currently, it is ;)

ETA: I will say that April 9-June 1 is long for a refurb on a ride that opened less than a year ago, so I'm not sure what exactly they'll be doing.

You're right. And DIS just confirmed it will be down April and May.

Have you been on it before? It's always disappointing when a ride is down, but it's not that great of a ride in the first place. If something has to be down during your trip, I'd gladly take Goofy's Sky School!

Actually no, but I did wanted to ride it. Fortunately, neither in my family will miss it since they didn't even know it existed! :rotfl: but when you spend so much time on the DIS you become aware of a lot of things that you want to try, and this ride was one of them. Oh well! as you said, better that one that one of the big ones! (Matterhorn is enough, thanks).
