What can you tell me about the food, characters, etc...anything to expect, watch out for...

I've had the character breakfast twice at Plaza Inn and just wanted to try something different.

go for dinner it was awsome
we love the dinner there because theres so much to chose from an to me my son seems to have more fun at the dinner then there breakfast.

there is the music an cheff party where they dance an play an the charcters all have fun with the kids. My son finely started danceing a bit last time the first time he didnt.
Shrimp, ham, pot rost, fruit (i only eat some fruits an veggys an they make it so easy for me to chose what i like. ) did i mintion they had shrimp? lol sorry i love my meats an shrimp is my fav amoung every kind (must be from dad an me having same bday an every year when i was younger we went to red lobster for bdays)

Sherry's computer is having issues but I know she'll answer when she gets back as this is her favorite place to eat! :)

There is already another goofy's thread...Sherry can be found there if the OP wants to read it. It also have a menu listed :)

Here I am! Here I am!:yay: I heard the call from my DIS friends! You are not kidding about my computer, Kerri. I had to just tell one of my clients that I needed to shut down early today because the beast keeps locking up on me every 2 minutes, and she complained. So I had to shut down and then turn it on again, but it is still acting up. So she will have to deal with it when I turn it off!

Back on topic - DizNee Luver is also a good one to chime in with info here because she was just there (more recently than I have been).

Anyway, about Goofy's - you know, I would personally skip the dinner and do the breakfast/brunch. It's just my personal preference, because I think I like the breakfast choices so much better than the dinner choices, but I think they have a lot of options at either meal. One thing they are not lacking is variety. It is very $$$ though (especially with the seasonal rate increase), so make sure you definitely want to eat there.

Typically, the characters I have seen are: Chef Goofy, Chip, Dale, Pluto and Baloo (those are the regulars), and then there is a revolving cast of characters that could include Alice and the Mad Hatter, Aurora and the Prince, Belle, Jasmine and Aladdin, Minnie, or any combination of of those, and there are others that have been reported but I have not seen in a while. The breakfast food includes some sort of banana crepes, Mickey-shaped cobbler, croissants, creme brulee French toast, DELICIOUS bacon and fruit, mini-muffins, lox, bagels, other pastries, pizza, chicken, waffles, etc. etc. There is a LOT to choose from.

And you can see pictures with characters at Goofy's spanning 1992 - 2008 in my Trip Report (link below in signature).

I am very satisfied with the food quality and variety at Goofy's for breakfast, as well as the character interaction, but to be fair and present the other side of the coin, it does seem as though more and more people are returning from there dissatisfied lately, so that can't be ignored. It may mean they need to start shaping up over there at Goofy's and adding more characters, or improving the interaction with each table. So whether or not it's for you really depends on your personal preferences in character meals and what you require.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:Well, I guess, better to be a Goddess of Goofy's than never a goddess of anything at all. I wish I were a goddess of making this @#$%&*+ computer run properly.:furious::badpc:

I do hope you enjoy your time at GK when you go soon, and that it lives up to DizNee Luver's and my reviews, BUT if you don't have a satisfactory time, make sure to tell us about it anyway! With those prices for character meals these days, it is painful to walk out of somewhere knowing you spent all that money and not feeling it was worth it!!

Ok, made it here...... hope I'm not to late....lol :rotfl:

SherryE, sorry to hear about your computer problems. Gotta love technology!! :wizard:is here with her trusty sledgehammer;)

Thanks for the help and insight!! I never set foot inside the DL hotel, so I am soooo happy to just check that out. Do you actually get to use the remote control on the jungle cruise boats? And, that is one huge Mickey that I cannot wait to get my pic with.

I did look at the food too. And, I am sorry about posting another GK thread. I didn't see the other one.

You're welcome....I believe the remote control boats are coin operated. They had boxes with steering wheels on them around the fencing.

The Mickey is in the front of the hotel....if you can't find it....ask someone to point you in the right direction!!!

we did brunch at Goofy's kitchen last week ... we had an 11:00 reservation and it was awesome as by the end of our meal we were one of only about 4 tables left in the restaurant. We were all basically in one are and so the characters all came over and were just hanging out, putting on a dance off show and just really having a great time with the kids!! It was a blast and I totally would recommend it!!! :yay:
