Goofys Kitchen Dinner vs Plaza Inn Breakfast?

Back in 2005 we did Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast and weren't too impressed with the characters (number of, interaction, time spent, etc.) so subsequent trips we switched to Minnie's Breakfast at the Plaza Inn (for the last 3 trips, 2007, 2010, & 2012) and for the most part have had great experiences.

This next trip we have breakfast included at our hotel so we decided to switch it up and we are doing Goofy's Kitchen for dinner on our first night. My Dad reminded me about our previous experience back in 2005 and now has me worried about my decision.

Anyone recently experience the two different character meals and can provide a comparison? I did a search and didn't find much that wasn't "official" breakdowns of what each offers or very old comparisons.

Unfortunately, I think it's hit and miss at Goofy's Kitchen. We have had good and bad experiences there at both Breakfast and Dinner. But we have always had positive experience at Minnie and Friends Breakfast.

We did dinner at GK and breakfast at PI last April.
I preferred the experience at PI...mainly due to the amount of characters and interaction. There were a lot.
At GK, we only saw Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Snow White. Pluto was also there, but never came to the table. The food was just okay as well.

We did both (for breakfast) on our last trip.

Goofy's Kitchen characters:
Goofy
Pluto
Chip
Dale
Perla
Mulan
Rafiki
Sleeping Beauty
Baloo

We were an early seating and most characters came by multiple times before the restaurant filled up. I thought we had very good, personalized interaction with the characters. There's a review with pics in my trip report.

Minnie's characters:
Minnie
Captain Hook
Pooh
Tigger
Eyeore
Brer Fox
Fairy Godmother
Max
Chip
Dale
Rafiki

The characters here put on cute shows interacting with each other. Tigger and Captain Hook dueled for a while. Tigger, Pooh and Eyeore were very playful with each other trying to "sneak up" on each other and tie balloons to their tails. But, I didn't find the personal interaction with us was as good. I'm not to this part of my trip report yet.

Goofy's was more expensive, but had much more food.

I'd call it a draw.

I just did both in march, the food is way better at gk but there were so many characters at Minnies that it was hard to eat:rotfl:
I would do Goofy for your free chracter meal as its more expensive, then if your kids are still wanting more character interaction go see Minnie. We just walked up and got in right away it was not busy at minnie at all.

We've done Goofy's for dinner and Minnie's for a late breakfast. If you do Minnie's at 10:30, you can still have an early breakfast at the hotel, and then Minnie's works more like a lunch. I enjoyed both of them, but for different reasons. At Minnie's you get more characters and good interactions, but at Goofy's they seem to be more recognizable characters. You do end up waiting around for them a bit longer, though. I really enjoyed the food at Goofy's, especially the desserts!

I could have made a whole meal out of the dessert bar! The quality of the items they did have was about the same. Same eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage. Both had a omelet station. But Goofy's had a ton more selection. Probably 4 times the amount of food as Minnie's.

We had a 10:20 at Minnie's and made it our lunch for the day. Did "supper" around 3:30 then had the Fantasmic dessert package at 8.

Minnie's had a more frenetic feel, but I think that may have been because they were about to close up versus Goofy's where we ate at 7:40 and beat the crowds. They were much much more busy when we left.

I agree...hit and miss for Goofy's kitchen, but wven when its a miss...its not bad.

I'll be interested in the GK dinner as well...I just made reservations for dinner the day we arrive. Hoping for a fun experience!

That's what we have - 5:20 next Wednesday. I'm hoping it is a good time to go!

We went to GK for breakfast late (11AM) 2 weeks ago and had great character interaction. We saw:

Goofy
Pluto
Chip
Dale
Belle
Aladdin
Baloo
Rafiki

A few passed by our table twice but I think this is because they just came from their "break" From our table, you could see the door they left and came from. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we went as well.

We did breakfast at Goofy's once and didn't like it. The food was great (better than Plaza), but the character interaction was terrible. Many characters passed us by and we waited 90 minutes to meet 3. It seems Goofy's is very hit and miss. Sometimes great, sometimes awful.

We have been to the Plaza Inn three times and loved it each time. Food is just ok, nothing special, but the character interaction is fantastic. We don't go for the food (hah!) but for the characters, so that's why we prefer the PI.

If you've never done Surf's Up at the PPH, that was a really great experience. The food was quite good, the venue is small, and the characters are absolutely fantastic. There are only 4, but they are really great. We really enjoyed it and are going back again on this trip and skipping PI for the first time.
