Goofy's Great Birthday Bash NEW 6/2 page 34

That husky is a nice prize:thumbsup2, just not some cheepy carival prize! The boardwalk looks like a great family place to go at night. Might have to check it out next time we go.

Great update! Looks like Goofy is having a blast! We play the chicken in a pot game in Las Vegas. It is the first game my kids ask to play! We will definetly be checking out these Boardwalk games on our next trip to WDW. Love the cake!

oooohhhh that cake looks delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He looked so happy on his surprise day:)))

your back :woohoo: your back :cheer2:
I was so worried, I normally just read your posts but wanted to let you know I am so sorry someone hurt your feelings

Yahoo for the scavenger hunt and that yummy cake! I'm so glad you decided to continue - I just love your surprises!! :cheer2:

What a wonderful evening! Loved the scavenger hunt idea! What a very fun way to spend Goofy's 10th birthday. :goodvibes That cake looks, and sounds, amazing!! That chocolate carousel is beautiful! You took that home with ya, right? ;)

The pizza and favorite TV show sounds like it was a great idea on how to end the day. I don't think any 10 year old would change that birthday celebration!

I am so glad your back! We all missed you!:grouphug:
It looks like you had such a nice day. The scavenger hunt was so cute. The cake looked delicious!
I am so glad you took pictures of all of the little details. It seems like I miss all of those things while we are there. I will have to pay more attention to the details next time.
Great update!:)

Love the scavenger hunt! What a great way to explore the resort. And that cake looked fantastic! The Boardwalk looks like so much fun. I love to play carnival games, but I totally stink at them. My son is pretty good, though, he usually manages to beat us all! So glad to be reading your reports again!:goodvibes

Jay, you're torturing me! I've read all your TRs, and consequently have seen the pics of all the cakes you've surprised your sweet family with. All I can say is  to this latest cake; I :lovestruc cake more than you can imagine, and this one looked SO good. How thoughtful to leave the extra with the CMs; I'm sure they loved it :)

The treasure hunt looked so fun! I don't think kids ever get tired of them, and it's the kind of activity that 1 child or 20 children from the ages of 3-93 can participate in. Goofy looked like he was enjoying himself so much! :cloud9:

Jay, I am so glad you decieded to continue..:cool1:I can't tell you what joy it brought to me to read your trip reports about you and your wonderful family! :goodvibesThank You so much! On another note that cake looked amazing...so delish!! You put so much thought and detail into their suprises. I hope when I have kids I can do things for them, like this. It looks like you and Goof had a great time on the boardwalk. That hotel is one of my favorites. I love the Husky stuff dog he won. Looks so cute and very soft!! I can't wait to hear more!! Again I am so glad you are back!!

YAY! Update! Loved the pics. Next time I go I definitely have to check out the Boardwalk. I've been there before but just to go to JellyRolls. MY Bubba is very glad to see your update too! He wanted to share that he won some stuffed toys too from Dave and Busters this past weekend so he knows winning at those games are fun! Looking forward to more!

Yummy looking cake, Jay. You always get the best cakes! It is so nice that you shared with the CM - I wonder if they get cake often?
Goofy is a cake lover so I make sure that cakes are always part of his surprise. Aladdin on the other hand doesn't even like cake (?????!!!!!!!) so I made him a giant cookie for his last birthday. Who doesn't like cake? ;)

Wow, Jay! You're on a roll!

I'm with you - how in the world does anyone ever figure out that they can balance a sword on the tip of a knife??? :confused3 I bet he was a daring child, probably gave his mother lots of gray hairs

The Boardwalk games look like fun.
Ha ha ha I bet his mom did have a full head of gray hair...even before he was a teenager. I was nervous for him while he was doing it and I knew he must do it all of the time but still...balancing a sword over your face on the tip of a knife blade? Crazy (or amazing or both). The games there were a lot of fun.

:lmao:At least the prizes are nicer than those you can win at the local cranival. Looks like a nice stuffed animal.
:rotfl: They were nicer than what you would find around here even in a Chuck E. Cheese or Dave and Busters. Thanks for sticking around and sticking with me! :)

That husky is a nice prize:thumbsup2, just not some cheepy carival prize! The boardwalk looks like a great family place to go at night. Might have to check it out next time we go.
It's a fun way to spend a night (or two). We really enjoyed our time there and plan on making the boardwalk (even if we are not at the BWI every stay) part of our future travel plans. It's a great area!

Great update! Looks like Goofy is having a blast! We play the chicken in a pot game in Las Vegas. It is the first game my kids ask to play! We will definetly be checking out these Boardwalk games on our next trip to WDW. Love the cake!
Chicken in a pot. :rotfl: Who thinks these games up?!:lmao: I remember when I was little the state fair had flip a rubber fish in the pot. :rotfl2: If you do make it over to the Boardwalk area make sure you grab a slice of pizza from the pizza window, a chunk of fudge (YUM!) from the sweet shop or a croissant from the bakery. Those were all tasty! :)

oooohhhh that cake looks delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He looked so happy on his surprise day:)))
He was very happy. And also a little tired. We had done a park during the early day, swam during the late afternoon and then we did the scavenger hunt. We had a very full day!

your back :woohoo: your back :cheer2:
I was so worried, I normally just read your posts but wanted to let you know I am so sorry someone hurt your feelings
Thank you for sticking around and sorry for being the cause of worry. I should have put my big girl pants on, hit delete and let it go...but when someone goes after my kids it takes a lot for me to calm down and be able to go on. Anyway, glad you are here! :)

How fun!! Next time we go, I'm calling you to plan a Scavenger Hunt for us, k?
:)
YES! Oh my goodness, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE planning them. I think they are SOOOOOO much fun! I already have one for the BWI and another one for the Poly. If I could, I would make a book full of them! ;)

Yahoo for the scavenger hunt and that yummy cake! I'm so glad you decided to continue - I just love your surprises!! :cheer2:
My lil Goof's trip was full of them (surprises) so you will get to share in a lot more. He is my little guy that enjoys being surprised and I very much adore doing it, so this vacation we were the perfect pair! ;)

Actually, the chocolate carousel ended up being broken toward the end of our trip. We frowned for a minute before realizing that we could then dig in without feeling guilty for tearing it apart! Ha ha ha.

I bet Henry would love a scavenger hunt of his own in a few very short years!! It was one of the most fun of my crazy WDW ideas. ;)

I am so glad your back! We all missed you!:grouphug:

Great update!:)
There were so many more details I forgot to get pictures of or the pictures just plain didn't turn out (a photographer I am not). I love the thought they put into just what goes where. The coolest thing about the BWI's lobby is the carousel. I LOVED it when it started to play music and all of the lights started to twinkle as it revolved. It was magical. More than once we stood mesmerized. It was really neat!

You and me both! I stink at the games too. I really was not letting him win, I couldn't even get a silly rubber lobster to fly right. :lmao: I swear I was using the mallet to hit the little flipper thing the same way Goofy was. :lmao: Mine just sort of flopped instead of flipping.:rotfl2:

The CMs did like the cake. I was glad to be able to share and also to not have the cake go to waste. What a shame that would have been!
They were really doing us the favor by helping us eat it. ;)

Thank you for saying something so nice! That made my day!I am sure you will do this and plenty more once you have kids. It's so much fun to make them smile! And that husky is still one of his favorites. I cannot believe it hasn't fallen apart yet. I am very glad it's much nicer than most carnival type animals (or we would be dealing with the loss of a husky and one unhappy little guy).

The BWI was amazing. I am so happy to have had the chance to stay there. It was really an amazing experience as far as customer service and the kindness of the CMs. I thought they were truly amazing there.

Oh do check it out. Don't miss the fudge at the sweets shop or the bakery or just strolling and taking in the lights in the evening. It's such a lively, realaxing and beautiful place!

:dance3:Hi Bubba:dance3: Congratulations on your Dave and Busters prizes! I bet that was a lot of fun!

Looks like Goofy had a blast with the scavenger hunt. That cake looks phenomenal! I would have loved to sink my teeth in it.

The husky is cute! I hate the cheap toys that you get at most carnivals games.

Someday I want to stay at the Boardwalk Inn.

Good to have you back Jay and you know my feelings about all of this :hug::hug:

The Scavenger hunt looks so much fun and what a great way to actually explore the BW! The cake looked delicious and how lovely of you both to share it :goodvibes

Goofy did great winning the husky, no-one normally wins those things :thumbsup2

BTW please don't tell me your last trip was between the 12th and 22nd of December as I was there then!!!

I said 'hi' a couple of trip reports ago and have followed your trip reports with such enjoyment. So sorry that you were treated poorly. I tend to take things personally and if you mess with my family then 'game on.' Glad you have put it behind you and moved on. I think it is so easy to hide behind the anonimity of a keyboard and would people really say such things if they were face to face with you? I think not.

We stayed at the Boardwalk Villas a couple of years ago and my daughter (almost 6) still says it is her favorite resort. I'm torn between Beach Club/Boardwalk and Villas at Wilderness Lodge. Our trip in a few weeks is WL and I love how close it is to MK and also we are enjoying the DxDP this time, so we are hitting all of the signature restaurants in that area. I asked my DD where she wanted to eat most of all and she said California Grill!!! When asked why, she said she loved the cheese plate!:confused3 They never fail to surprise!

I'm so surprised with your frequency of trips, that you haven't broken down and purchased into the DVC program. My parents bought into it about 10 years ago and really used it the first few years. Not long after they both started having health problems and didn't travel to DW anymore. So, they put me on their accountant as an associate and now my DH and I pay the annual assessment and have free reign of the points. We have thought about adding on a few more points so that we can take friends with us. And the beauty of it is we can use the points all over the world if we ever want to have a break from DW....but can't imagine that ever happening! Just wanted to put that little 'bug' in your ear.

Looking forward to more on the trip report.

I'm so excited to have you posting again! :hyper:

Excellent updates (as usual)! :worship:

Kathy

Jay,

I am a long time lurker to your trip reports and I am so happy to see that you are back. I am sorry that people were mean to you. I just don't understand people sometimes.

Your trips are so creative and they give me great ideas for future Disney surprises for my family. I look forward to many more trip reports!

Abby

My DH would love it as he is a huge ELEPHANT fan

Sorry to hijack Jay's great TR (SO happy you are back BTW!) but I mis-read your statement. I read the beginning as, "My DH would love it as he is as huge as an ELEPHANT" and I was thinking, "What an AWFUL thing to say about your DH". When I saw the word fan and re-read the sentence I felt stupid (but had to laugh because it was so funny).
