Has anyone been to Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree? This is the attraction that replaced the Daimond Horseshoe Saloon. Do they still serve food or is it only a "show"? Any description/review would be appreciated. Thanks.

For those who have done this, how early do we need to line up? I was thinking of trying to see this right before the 3:00 parade. Any thoughts?:D

There was no food when we were there in August. We lined up about 15 minutes in advance and the line was very small at that point. Most people seemed to filter in closer to show time.
Its a really cute & fun show. My kids didnt really get into the dancing, but the kids that did were having a ball. Great chance for pictures and video with the characters, especially if you end up dancing with them.

Thanks CamColt! Would a concise summary of the old vs the new show be: The "dance hall/saloon" type review with Corny Jokes, sandwiches or snacks, etc. of the old show has given way to another opportunity to interact with the characters - be accurate?

We did it two weeks ago. We got in line about 5 mins before they opened. I can't imagine anybody wanting to do this attraction more than once. There was no food available. The general description is that everybody on the bottom level learns a few steps and dances with Goofy and several other characters. People sitting on the upper level just sit there and watch. A good percentage of people walked out as soon as they figured out what was happening. If you are into line dancing, then you may like it.

HI!
I am a performer in the show, and I think it's a great opportunity for kids and grownups to interact with some of the characters and do a little dancing. True, it's not really a show for JUST adults, unless they like the whole DIsney character experience, but I think it's more fun for kids, especially little ones. I love performing this show, and it's the best feeling in the world to see those little one's faces when Chip, or Dale, Woody, or Jessie, comes up to hold their hand or teach them a dance.
It's not hard to get in to see it, they keep the doors open a few minutes after the show starts. If you don't want to dance you can go to the balcony to watch, or just stay on the ground floor and join in the fun. It's the audience participation that makes the show.
Hope you come and give it a chance! :)

Hi,

We did this and it was great....everyone I saw seemed to be enjoying it as well...it is a must do for us in the future. Not too long of a wait ahead of scheduled show time and it was very cool inside!!

iloveham, How often do they do the show? How crowded does it get? Do the characters go throughout the dance floor or are they more up on a stage? I know DD would be thrilled to dance with a character, Is there a spot on the dance floor that they are more likely to get picked to dance with? And, are the shows all busy, or is there a time when it is less crowded? thanks!

Let's see.... We do the show 7 times a day, except on Not SO Scary days, and then we do six shows.
For a regular park day the show times are: 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm.

Our most crowded shows are the 2pm, and the 4pm- the ones directly before and after the parade.
The characters come down quite a bit in the audience esp. the Pixar characters (Woody, Jessie and Bullseye ). If you stay closer to the front of the stage, you will be closer to Chip and Dale, but honestly if you are just on the floor in the midst of the action, you can get close to the characters to play with them. :)

Like a previous poster said, a fair amount of people do leave kind of in the beginning, since they usually don't have kids, or their kids are too old for the dancing, so you will have plenty of room to be on the dance floor.

Me and my best friend (we are both 17)went to this show and we were practically molested by the characters (Chip, Dale, Woody and Goofy). Niether of us really enjoyed it since we were being pulled around by the characters but I think aside from that we wouold have had fun. A lot of the littel kids were really into it. We will probably never do it again as our group consists of 2 teens, a 4yo who doesn't like to dance, and a mom and a grandma. I do think this is a one time attraction and I really wish thtey had left it the way that it used to be.

Practically molested? Did you mean to type that description of your interaction with the characters?

The show itself lasts about 20 minutes from start to finish and it is pretty fast paced.

Sorry to hear you had a semi- bad experience with the characters. Yes, the Chipmunks DO like to pull people out to dance, but I have never seen anyone "molested" by them- that word has such negative connotations to it and I don't think they mean to harass people, they are told to "encourage" people to get out on the dance floor.

I know a lot of people think this is a one time attraction, but to some people, especially kids that are into the characters, they come all the time. We already have a bunch of regulars that we see time and time again.

My 13 year old daughter has Down syndrome and she got to dance with Jessie in early Sept at Goofy's Jamboree. It was one of the highlights of the trip, she loved it!

I saw this show a couple weeks ago and loved it -- as did everyone else sitting around me. It was packed with people having fun. I didn't want to dance, especially since I don't have kids. Great seats in the balcony and everyone seemed to be laughing and really enjoying themselves. I didn't see anyone walk out. If you like the characters and don't mind country music, this is very cute.

Saw this today and it is a horrible substitution for the Diamond Horseshoe Revue, IMO. That show had fun for all ages - the current one is aimed only at the 3-5 y.o. set IMO.

Also, there was no Bullseye today which was a disappointment to the 3y.o. in our party.

Finally, can't they get a better wig for the Sarah-Jo character? I mean, I know most performers wear wigs or falls when onstage, but usually they look semi-real unless it is a period or fantasy character. From the balcony the wig was way too obvious.

Thanks for the reviews! This is a show my daugther will definitely enjoy and we can't wait to see it. :D

We are looking forward to the show and I am glad to learn a little more about it. One question. where are the wheelchair accessible seats? I think Megan will really enjoy all the music and characters and was wondering where we would be sitting with her. Iloveham look for us next Wednesday.

We saw this show the last week in Sept. and it was AWESOME! IMO, Goofy is one of the more difficult characters to find and the kids thought it was great to dance with him.

We also have younger kids, and I can see where older children and adults wouldn't appreciate the show. We loved it, in fact our kids did it twice in one day because it was one of their favorite things that we did.

If nothing else, the A/C was great--it was 90 when we visited!
