We read about this in our WDW for kids book. It sounds like alot of fun. Wanting to know if anyone here has some first hand knowledge of this. Do they really teach you to line dance? What dances did they teach you? How often do they teach dances?

Appreciate any information about this.

Hi!
We went to see it last year. I would say its more of a show than a line dance. When you go in you can either sit upstairs or sit on the floor downstairs. (ground level)
Sitting downstairs means you get character interaction ! They do a bit of line dancing and all the kids love it! But over all its just a show!!
Hope this helps

On our visit there in July we planned to go upstairs since our kids dont usually dance there(but I do,LOL!). They had both sets of stairs roped off and no one could go up. I dont know if thats something new, or maybe there was just a reason upstairs was closed at that time.

As for the dances they do the Electric Slide and a couple others. For one they divide the room into 4 groups and 1 has to giddyup like a horse, 1 howls, one does a chicken imitation, etc.. Its a really high energy show, and it can get a bit disorganized too, but its lots of fun.

Haven't been to DW in over 4 years, so haven't been on the boards for about that long.

Have never heard of this. Where is it?

According to my book WDW for kids by kids it is located next to Country Bear Jamboree in Frontierland @ MK

It's at the old Diamond Horshoe Review. We went last year, and it was fun. The characters really dance right next to you on the dance floor (no more chairs on the main floor). It does get a little hectic, though, since the characters can't see very well yet are moving a lot, and quickly (dancing). I was almost clobbered by Bullseye a couple of times, so just watch out if you go with little ones.

I am sure I read somewhere (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that WDW is changing the show for 2005. I think it is the Country Jamboree but I'm not sure. Does anyone know? Will it still be a country musice type show? I'm going late in 2005 and was just wondering. Thank you

This was on Mouseplanet today:

Ears to the ground
…It appears that budget cuts have done in Goofy's Country Dancing Jamboree. The show gave its last performance before Hurricane Frances shut the parks down. It will be replaced by a character meet-and-greet featuring Jesse, Woody, and Bullseye.

Bummer to hear that. We saw it last year and loved it.:(

Bummer. I was sad to see the Diamond Horseshoe show get reduced and then cut, but at least there was the Goofy's Dance show that replaced it. We got to do it twice last year and the kids really enjoyed it. I think they did about 3 dances and demonstrated a bit during the song to get the kids involved. It's such a cool building, it would be a shame to have it only be a character greet location.

Wow!! This is my 500th post!! :smooth:

I was so disappointed to hear it was closing. This was something the kids and I were looking forward to doing. Especially my granddaugher as she has gone to line dancing lessons with me many times. A few of the dances we were told they taught were dances she already knew.

My family of 5 made it to this show last year. I'm not sure how old your kids are but...........my 6 yr old girl liked it, but my two older ones (10+12) just kind of rolled their eyes. For one thing it was so LOUD! It was also pure caos! I thought a little unorganized (and this is the slow season of Nov). The characters were cool but I will not shed a tear over the loss of this show. Sorry I'm being bruttaly (sp?) honest.:(

Man!! I loved that show, the kids do too, I mean where else can you dance with Woody, Jessie, Bullseye and Goofy? If they needed to cut back, they could have done it with something else. BUMMER!!!!!!:( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Not to get off the subject...but if Woody can line dance with the kids, then why can't Disney have a Toy Story Character breakfast. The previous word had said that his costume was not conducive to the interaction needed for breakfast. However, if he can dance then surely he could go table to table at a breakfast. And then Buzz could be the stationary character.

I know that a lot of posters have expressed an interest in a breakfast like this...to provide more opportunities for boys.

just my 2 cents.

What's the official word on this?? I saw that Steve Soares entertainment list had this as "closed this week". There's nothting on disneyworld.com. Any CMs know??

Here is the official word:

"Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree will soon evolve into an enhanced character experience in mid to late September. The last performance was on Saturday, September 4, 2004. Once this new experience begins, Guests will have the opportunity to interact with our Disney Characters: Jesse, Woody, and Bullseye throughout the day."

Does anyone know if Goofy will return to Liberty Tree Tavern now? We really miss seeing him there! :) TIA!
