Goofy Santa Hat Question??

Hi, we were lucky enough to go to the Christmas Party last year and my daughter got the santa goofy hat with the light up ears. Unfortunately, the batteries are dead and I cannot find an opening in the hat where I could change the batteries. Am I going crazy?? Has anyone found a way to change the batteries? If there is no opening, has anyone tried to cut the hat to get to the batteries? I hate to have to cut a $30 hat and I am very surprised that Disney would sell a product that I cannot replace the batteries in. Any info would be appreciated!

I did a Google search and found a hat like the one you're describing on ebay and it says it has a hidden pocket with self-stick fabric (velcro) closure that holds the power unit and On/Off switch.
