In my Passporter guide it talks about being able to buy groceries at Gooding's @Crossroads near Downtown Disney. Does anyone know about this? Where exactly it is and what kinds of things you can get there. We want to be able to pick up some things that we can do for breakfasts and snacks in our room. Thanks.

When you come out of DD onto 535, the Crossroads is straight in front of you.

Goodings is very expensive though. We usually like to get our snacks, etc. from Publix. If you take a left on 535 instead of going straight into the Crossroads, you'll come to a Publix up the road a bit.

Goodings is ridiculously expensive. There are other grocery stores that you could be to in about a couple of minutes. It will save you a huge amount of money.I made the mistake of going there once and thats all it took.

I have to agree that Goodings is not the place to shop. Last year when we went there DH ran in to get a few things (ran out of diapers and needed juice) The diapers that we normally paid $9 for at home were $22. I don't remember how much the juice was but  What should have cost under $20 was almost $50. I'd try to find somewhere else to shop.

Thank goodness we won't be needing diapers our next trip ;)

When you go shopping to the Premium Outlet Mall, there is a grocery store that opened up at the strip mall across the street. I can't remember the name but me thinks it's a Publix!

As previous stated, Goodings in very expensive!

Hanging my head in shame, as I admit in public, that I love Goodings LOL!

We love their prepared foods. We'll stop in and pick something up, and pop into one of the parks and just enjoy the freshness of the food. The sandwiches are so darn good..much better than what we settle for at the ocunter service at Dis..and they aren't fried (anything low in price at Dis is fried!)! They do run a little less at Goodings.

We find their bagles nice and fresh, and the fruit ready to eat.

We get our water/snacks on the way in from the airport at Walmarts...but for fresh food..yummy at Goodings.

Glad to hear that someone else is a fan of Goodings. I love their prepared sandwiches for a day at TL or in the room.

For the things we buy there I don't find the prices out of line.

We've also been shoppers at Gooding's. Yes, it is more expensive, but when you're already at DTD, it's very convenient to just head over to do your grocery shopping, too. As far as comparing it to other stores to give an idea on pricing, I'm from central IL and it seems to be similar to Kroger or Schnuck's...high everyday prices, but better deals if things are on sale.

While I probably wouldn't buy a weeks worth of groceries there, I have bought a few snacks there and didn't think the price outrageous. Maybe a little more expensive than I pay at home, but when they rung me up I remember thinking, "Wow, that's not expensive at all." I purchased a case of diet coke, a box of granola bars, a box of Pop Tarts, a curling iron!! (~$8), and a box of juice bags. But I am used to paying Chicago prices.

Crossroads is a shopping plaza located at SR 535 and Hotel Plaza Blvd in Lake Buena Vista. The area includes shops and restaurants (Pizzeria Uno, Perkins, Taco Bell plus others). It's located at the end of Hotel Plaza Blvd in the Crossroads Shopping Center near Downtown Disney. Prices tend to be geared toward tourists rather than locals, but it's open 24 hours and very conveniently located.

But, wouldn't ya much rather enjoy a nice MRE? ;) :p :teeth:

I agree with Doris, Goodings has an excellent selection of prepared foods and other specialty items. Their deli counter is excellent.

Their grocery prices are very high, in fact if you're just looking for breakfast stuff you might be better off packing the dry foods and just buy milk in the hotel gift shop.

Sometimes I'm just picking up soda and bottled water. Walgreens and CVS works out great.

If you don't have a rental car, would goodings be the place to get groceries?

You need a rental car or a towncar service with a grocery stop. You'll never save enough $$$ (over the hotel gift shop/food court) to pay for the taxi. Many of the towncar companies will include a free grocery stop.

I agree it's walkable (depending on the age and health of the family) BUT I don't think I'd walk back with groceries (I'm thinking about a case of soda, water and the like). Might work if you were looking to pick up sandwich food and the like. I'd also be afraid that heat or thunderstorms might interfere with my walking plans.

Reserve a towncar with a grocery stop. Really the best solution.

Goodings will deliver to your WDW resort room. You can put in an order before you leave over the internet at www.goodings.com and they will deliver to your room after arrival. All this for Goodings regular (if somewhat high, but not terible) prices, plus a $10 delivery fee (cheaper than a taxi). I have found Goodings quality to be excellent, and the convenience hard to beat. Their prices, well... I still feel it is a good value for money, plus you get more vacation time to spend, well, vacationing (isn't that what it's all about anyway?):teeth:
