Goodbye to The Trip...

This makes me sad.
Not only do I love the show, but also I wasn't as sad that the Tuesday segment show went away PD (post Dustin) because I felt like this kinda made up for it, especially after they said that they were moving to include WDW in this year's iteration.
I'm sure whatever is coming is great, but now I feel like I'm mourning 2 shows

Say it ain't so:sad:. I haven't watched todays issue but I always play it so I can read the conversation with everyone. I was so worried when I read the comments about The Trip being cancelled that I rushed to the boards to see what happened. I have to say I love the trip. The Trip,Cali Disunplugged and the Disunplugged are the only podcasts I view regularly. I loved how The Trip would pick a topic like pulling kids out of school for a trip at Disney. If it hadn't been for that episode I never would have guessed that Dustin was that kid who wanted perfect attendance and wouldn't miss school. I also liked the fact that The Trip would ask a question on FB regarding an upcoming show and they would include those comments in their show discussion. Thank you JK, Theresa, and Jackie.

I really grew to love the Trip. But I know the ladies (and lad :-)) of the Trip are so incredibly talented, that they will land on their feet either within or headlining another DIS production. Its hard to do everything and I forget that T, JL and Jackie are also raising kids and juggling home demands as well. They must be pulled in all different directions. I'm slow on the uptake with the info, and just re-watching the announcement now, as I was trying to watch the show yesterday while fielding telephone calls and the show/news had to take a back burner. Thank-you to Teresa, JL, Craig & Jackie for incredible hrs of entertainment and laughter! The Trip will be missed. Looking forward to seeing you all in something "new and shiny" in the weeks to come :-)

I never got into the trip and was my least favourite. With Restaurant reviews coming at the end of the Tuesday show and the New Dreams show it was always on the cards. Im sure the three ladies talents will be utilised elsewhere in the business.

It's sad to see it go, but life goes on. I'm sure the team has something else in store for them. Thank you ladies, Dustin and Craig for all you did and for the laughs.

So disappointed but totally understand. I am there every week in the chat room. I know how busy everyone is and thought this podcast could be taped instead of live since there isn't a news segment (not needed obviously). I had hoped this would make things less crazy. I really enjoy hearing about what is available outside the parks. Thanks for the laughs and fun you all brought to The Trip. Can't wait to see what new things are coming!

I will definitely miss the show, but with all of the new things coming from the DIS team this year, I'm not surprised that something had to go. I hope we still see lots of great content from Teresa, JL, and Jackie!
Personally, I'd love to see short Teresa segments from the welcome center (I mean, Craig and Ryno aren't at all busy, they could for sure go out there and film Teresa's sarcastic commentary or something). And a series of videos from JL about taking your family to Disney (since she's got kids of various ages) and/or special diets at Disney restaurants would also be great.
And I certainly hope that Jackie pops up on the podcasts any time she makes her way to the Orlando area (now that I know she lives in Jacksonville, I'm really impressed that she was able to come down for podcasts at all - if I'm remembering my Florida geography properly, that's not a short drive). I will definitely miss her enthusiasm and pixie dust attitude!

Congrats on a great run. I am sure there will be new content, shows, etc. that will fill our void. I can't wait to see what happens as the DIS continues to "re-imagine" itself. As Walt would have said...progress!

While I will miss the show, there is an opportunity here. The Disneyland podcast frequently has what they call "Day Six" segments, which focus on things to do outside of DLR during the "rest of the week" when you aren't using your 5 day park pass. In essence, this is what 90% of The Trip had become. So if the DL Podcast team can weave non-DL stuff into their weekly podcast, the WDW podcast team should be able to as well. Probably not every week. But from time to time should be sufficient. Frankly, as much as I enjoyed The Trip, there were times when they seemed to be stretching to fill an entire hour every week. (Some of the Cocoa Beach stuff was cute, but pushed the limits of relevance). If they distill this down to just the Orlando Area content that they would have presented on the Trip, they could tack it on as 20-30 minutes of extra podcast time on the WDW show the way that John and Kevin do with restaurant reviews. For example, there is no reason why the ICE! segment could not be a 30 minute add-on to a regular podcast.

Sad to see it go. It may not always have been content rich, but it was always thoroughly entertaining. But will look forward to whichever podcast they go to. Nice run ladies!
