Goodbye Main Street Bakery....

Main Street Bakery is not going away. My understanding is that Starbucks will be there like Edy's is at the ice cream shop. There are name brands all over WDW. Everybody take a deep breath.

I can say with authority, as I am a Senior Member of this board :rotfl: that you will love the change.

Now have a Tollhouse cookie and a venti mocha.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I see this as a potential win for everyone.

Hopefully the bakery interior will be remodeled because to me it looks drab now and the use of space is very poor. I see a much more attractive place that fits the Main Street theming with little mention of Starbucks and with bakery treats from both the original bakery and Starbucks. I'll be able to get my chai tea and SB's banana bread while others can still get whatever bakery items they already like.

My only worry is that the lines will be ridiculous but we'll see.

:thumbsup2 My issue is going to be the line too. The DCA location gets very busy in the morning and mid afternoon. I was hoping it would be elsewhere just to divide some of the morning traffic!

Main Street won't look the same with a huge Starbuck's logo staring back at you. :(

It won't be, check out the DCA location and you'll get the idea of how it will actually look. :thumbsup2

Since you've seen DCA, how would you compare the square footage they'll have to work with at DW MSB with DCA? That is my main concern. The Bakery seems so small even now, will they have the space to do it right?

It's much bigger then MSB and gets very busy. However most people, as a previous poster said, are grabbing their coffee and food to go. The tables are generally empty. Sometimes mid afternoon it gets a little busy with people sitting for an afternoon break.

Most likely there will still be turnovers and chocolate cake. Most of the bakery case at DCA was non-Starbuck's items. You will not be spending money at Starbucks because it will not be "Starbucks", it will be a Disney establishment with Disney cm's that serve Starbucks drinks rather than Nestle.

The square footage is larger there but everytime I went in most of the tables were empty. Most people did a grab and go.

This! :thumbsup2

I am hoping for a nice combination of the two. Main Street Bakery is such a classic and I trust that Disney will do it right. I personally love Starbucks so I will enjoy being able to get a chai latte and a giant main street bakery cinnamon bun.

At the DCA location, there is more Disney food on offer than Starbucks food. It is two SB shelves to three Disney shelves. The combination at DCA is awesome.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Edy's and Coca Cola aren't nearly as bad as the evilness of the Starbucks corporation! :rotfl2:

Why would anyone hate Starbucks or think they are evil? Did I miss some major Starbucks is the devil news???

:rotfl2: I don't know, ask the people who hate Starbucks so much. I'm sure exactly it's so much what the corporation has done. If it is, they should hate Nestle far more which has proven human rights violations against them. If people want to talk about greedy corporations, I don't think Starbucks is the worst one out there.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Greedy corporations? That's redundant isn't it? I mean let's be honest, Disney is a greedy corporation:duck: they just make us feel better about it. Kinda like a greedy corporation with a cause ya know?:thumbsup2

:lmao: That's my argument! On our last trip, we had to buy a packed of band aids at Magic Kingdom. It was $6 for about 4 bandaids! I could have gotten a 31oz Iced Coffee and a Croissant for that!

It's hillarious how you start to look at things when it comes to what you love. Saving for a trip or right after a trip I find myself saying. . . "Do you know how many Mickey Krispie treats I could have bought with that?" Or "What took you so long? I could have ridden SM, BTM AND SM 3 times each by now!" Your point of reference is completely in another stratosphere, which can only mean one thing. . . The Disney (corporate greed) force is strong within you! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

The only thing I've seen mentioned against Starbucks is that hipsters drink it. So clearly they are tucked in bed with satan himself.

I agree that I hate the Nestle corporation, hard to get away from them though.

I for one welcome our new barista overlords, if I can get a Holiday Peppermint Mocha Latte (tm) on my way to Space Mountain.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: We say those things all the time! I love Starbucks but I love Disney too. I'm excited these two are coming together.

But those band aids were still a complete rip off! :rotfl2:

They are ::yes:: I've seen them myself. :rotfl2:

See, I love this thread this time of night. . . All the daytime drama aside for the real important stuff. . . Disney-aholics-annonymous!

Who cares if it's owned by Starbucks as long as it has the right theming?

It won't be owned by Starbucks, just sponsored by it. It will still be the Main Street Bakery. It will just have marginally better coffee and a variety of old and new food items.

This idea is going over light a lead balloon. We want our bakery back. Big money does US in again.

Not for all of us. Just look at this thread (or the 712 other threads). Many of us are happy about the change (or, at the very least, willing to see what happens).

No one is taking away your bakery. Disney = big money.

Only some people want the bakery "back". Not that MSB is actually going anywhere, it's staying the MSB with Starbucks coffee alongside Disney treats. There will be more Disney treats then Starbucks, if using DCA as a rough blue print.

As for big money, what exactly do you call Disney? :rotfl2: Although neither Starbucks or Disney actually make the world's largest 100 corporations.

I think it's terribly sad. All those memories of getting to the park early (or late) and grabbing those delicious sticky buns will be gone. Now Starbucks will come in and destroy those precious memories. Just like when carnation stopped serving fantasia ice cream in Disneyland. Now it will just be a sad memory to tell my children one day.

Disney is always changing. My children will remember pooh fondly while I curse it every time we pass the picture of mr toad. Our children are allowed to have their own fond memories. Of course if all they hear is complaining that aspect will be ruined for them.

And again, what concrete evidence do you have that those buns will be gone? What's that? Right, you have no evidence.

I have no doubt you'll. be able to continue to stuff your face with them for years to one.
