Goodbye Main Street Bakery....

Darn iPad! Where's the little smiley bowing as if to say "we're not worthy"? Love this.

Or they could turn it into a giant Frappucino...

That was horrible! LoL!

:rotfl:

Because some of the questions people ask were explored earlier. What is the point to repeat it. Just follow the thread. :confused3

You haven't answered anything, especially the question "Will you admit that you are wrong if it turn out you are?"

I've been to wdw once a year since 1977, and managed not to eat there. I don't think I could tell you which side of the street it is on. Lol, I don't think anyone could say that about the castle!

It is nostalgic for the people who bothered with it. Not iconic.

This is one entertaining read tonight. I'm just glad I don't care one way or the other, or I'd be banging my head against the same wall many of you are.

I agree. I don't care either way. I have no MSB ties, I don't drink Starbucks. As i said before the average person going to WDW isn't going to know anything different, most will think cool I can my Starbucks. As long as the outside exterior stays the same (fits in) the average WDW guest could probably care less if the interior looks like every other Starbucks.

Kind of like if Cosmic Ray's stays the same on the outside BUT became McDonald's on the inside. The average wdw visitor wouldn't know the difference.

I feel for those with "traditions" at MSB,yes it sucks, hopefully you can find something new or at least find a place to get your favorite MSB treat to fulfill that tradtion. :goodvibes

I know I dislike it when certain characters leave their spots and are never seen again..sometimes the new ones come and go so quick you barely have a change to see them..hello BOLT!!!!

Walt always said the parks would be ever growing and they will never be finished......

This post makes no sense but to I did answer and tell you when I would admit I was wrong. You still haven't said you would, you simply try to deflect again.

Not really, I stated what I would accept and you proposed I should admit I was wrong if this will actually turn to be the case. So my question is if it will not be that case, will you admit that you were wrong? Otherwise we stay with gray area and nobody will be admitting anything, kind of disappointing for those who reads it now. Is my proposition clear? Any details you want to discuss before we go with it?

MSB is iconic to Main Street, sure not as big as castle but still. Why do you think so many people are upset? Do you really think just because of SB in parks? Everyone wants good coffee. Place they SB somewhere else, everyone would jump, except SB haters of course.

And MSB will remain there. The colors mighy be updated, the cinnamon rolls may be on the other side... But it will be there, treats in tow.

For the third time I said I would, you haven't. Saying you would accept it and saying you were wrong is not the same thing.

This is what you said in earlier posts: No, I will not be upset then. If it turns to be same exact theme as we have now, not similar to fit surroundings but same, you know, same tiles, same colors, with only change is to be addition of machines and whatever items they feel like to add, even sign outside and few SB logo items to buy like mugs, I will not care. The feel of the bakery would stay the same in this case with only addition of something new, why not.

If Disney was refurbishing MSB without adding SB and changed the colors and the tiles, etc would you be this upset? Would you be up in arms if they painted the walls a different color?

They have to update these things. The tiles they used 10 years ago aren't available today. They'd have to change.

If they keep MSB goods available with the addition of the SB treats, whether they change the structure or colors, while keeping the theme intact and the same there should be no issues.

So the answer is yes your going to be upset when they change the tile colors. But I do not recall any posts about previous refurbs, ya know I have not seen you upset about Sara Lee being gone and the outside changes made to MSB previously. Why are you so hung up on THIS particular refurb vs the others?

For the third time I said I would, you haven't. Saying you would accept it and saying you were wrong is not the same thing.

Yes, I would come here and admit I was wrong if they do what I described earlier as acceptable(not repeating the whole thing, who wants can find it and read it).
And you come here and admit you were wrong if they do anything else.
One year or so from now.
Is it done deal?

Sorry I'm not going back to read all your posts so let me make it simple, I said what I would do would you come back and admit that you were wrong if it isn't a Starbucks location and not simply a refurbishment of the bakery as Disney said in their release.

To say that Starbucks shouldn't be allowed in the parks because you don't like it, makes absolutely no sense. It would be as ridiculous as me saying that just because I don't like the cinnamon rolls (I don't, they're awful!) so therefore WDW should just stop selling them.

It's not an issue of whether or not you personally like Starbucks, that is entire irrelevant to the argument.

Also regardless of whatever Consumer Board has discovered about Starbucks coffee roast, it is irrelevant (unless they found rat faeces in the beans :lmao: ) Taste is entirely up to the individual. Some people will love Starbucks, some won't. Some will love those cinnamon rolls, some won't. Given it's one of the most popular coffee brands in the USA and possibly the world, Disney has decided to bring them into the parks. Disney chose to bring Starbucks in, Starbucks hasn't bulldozed their way into Main St.

The reason they won't conceal their logo is down to two things. Firstly, it's the deal that Disney has made with them clearly. They're allowed to have a minimal sign that blends into the location but still identifies them as Starbucks brand. It is not the huge green sign that people on these boards as insisting it is. If you looked at the DCA location, you would already realise this.

Secondly, many people have argued that it should have no Starbucks signage. Instead somewhere should read "Proudly brewing Starbucks Coffee". This won't happen for a simply reason. The locations that have this signage outside WDW, only brew hot Starbucks coffee. The locations at DCA and soon to be MK and EPCOT locations, will have their full drinks menu including iced coffee and their frappuccinos, as well as some food menu items.

As people have already pointed out, McDonald's did have some sign to recogonise their brand. It was not over the top, just as the Starbucks sign will blend into the area very well.

StarBucks coffee is not better than the eh hem so called Nestle coffee. I don't like Starbucks at all. Why couldn't they just conceal the Starbucks logo and just serve the starbucks coffee like they did with McDonald Fries etc. at Frontier Land and World showcase in EPCOT? After all McDonald's coffee tastes so much better then that bitter tasting, outrageously priced Starbucks.

***

The March 2007 issue of Consumer Reports compared American fast-food chain coffees and ranked Starbucks behind McDonald's Premium Roast.[181] The magazine called Starbucks coffee "strong, but burnt and bitter enough to make your eyes water instead of open".
