Goodbye Epcot Wand...?

It looks so much nicer without that hand and those gravestones out front.

You got that right!!! Please, please, please let this be true! Take down that awful wand!!!!!:yay:

NEWS ALERT:

I have exclusive images of what the refurbished globe will look like, and I think you'll all agree that it will be a vast improvement:

That is too funny! He's on the wakeup call, he's every where!

:rotfl: Reeeoga, thank you. I haven't had that good a laugh in a long time!!!:rotfl:

LOL... Spaceship Stitch? :rolleyes1

I don't mind the wand all that much. It's fine with me if they want to remove it though. I'd rather see the tombstones go, to be honest. And the hat. And Stitch, LOL.

I like Stitch well enough, and maybe I just go to Disney too often, but I am Stitched out. I'm sick of the little guy. :headache:

I would love to see that tacky wand gone, along with the tombstones in front of SE. Hopefully the hat will soon follow. I miss looking down Hollywood Blvd. and seeing the Chinese theater.

I wouldn't put it past them to do something like that! Sometimes Disney gets everything just right and other times you wonder what idiot thought of that idea.

Oh the new Stich ride!!!!!!!!!!! I bet that's what the rehad of Spaceship Earth will be. It'll be totally gutted and have a dark ride with Snitch jumping out at you and burping that chili dog smell.

MMMM!! Chile Dogs MMMMMMM!!

Now I'm hungry and yes I am having Hotdogs for my meal! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

i'm really not a big fan on the EPCOT wand or the sorcer's hat at MGM, but if i had to choose which one they got rid of first, I would choose the hat because it just seems so out of place and too large for the area that it's in. the wand really isn't needed over Spaceship Earth telling us we're entering EPCOT - even if you've never been there, you know what the sphere symbolizes.

now if they could also bulldoze those "tombstones" out in front while they're at it.....

Ok at the risk of being banned from here....if MGM removes the hat....what is the icon for that park the Chinese Theatre??????

Yup, that's what it was before the hat. That and the Earffel Tower.

Just another YEA to the idea of removing the Wand and Grave Stones out front. I like a little blah (regalness) at EP.

I like the hat at MGM, although it seems to serve little purpose. What I didn't like (and it may not be like this all the time) is that looking back at the hat from the main entrance - all you really see is a bunch of silver stage lights going across it. Ruins the view and pics with the hat as background. Maybe you have to take those shots from somewhere over by IJTD?

The wand is slated to come down by November, from what I have been told. I actually knew of this a number of days ago but wanted to talk to a friend of mine to make sure he was very sure (and he is).

I'm glad to see the wand go. But I love the hat. I also hate where the hat is located, couldn't they expand another area and put it there? I like the icon that it is and it is really cool, except that it blocks the beautiful chineese theater!

Maybe in the new star wars themed land. . .

I actually love the hand and wand :)

If they do remove it, I hope they paint the spere white, cause then it is basically a silver golf ball:rolleyes:

I would LOVE to see that big, ugly hat come down as well (or as I coined back when it was built, the "Big A** Hat". :) The park was beautiful with the Chinese Theater in full view.

Wouldn't that be lovely! I hope it is true.,then we can work on getting rid of that hideous hat.

The hat is not going anywhere. It is the staple icon of MGM. If you ever look at maps of WDW, the big hat is on the maps to show where MGM is.

Im an old school disney fan, but I like the wand. Its pretty damn cool. And as for the hat. Where are people going to take pictures as they arrive at the park?
