...Hello new hot water heater.
:(

Our hot water heater kicked the bucket last weekend. Wrote the second biggest check of my life (first was for the deposit on our house) to the plumber on Tuesday.
The final amount of our Disney money is due in less than two weeks. :(

Wow that must be an expensive water heater! I think ours was $700 or so a few years ago.

Sorry about the expense, though. It always happens at the worst time.

Is that your 45 day mark? You technically have until 30 days out to pay a package before they cancel it. Paid mine day before yesterday. (was waiting on a bonus check)

I'm sorry. Our EF was just wiped out by our lovely car. Grrr... and just as we paid the other car off. Gotta love murphy!

Ouch! I'm so sorry to hear this, and totally know how it feels. We just got back from Disney. The week before, while traveling to Kentucky for jump rope camp, my transmission blew out..to the tune of $2600 plus an expensive night in a hotel, plus rental car, plus a separate trip back out to WV to pick up the car when it had been fixed. Why do these things always happen at the worst times??? We really had no choice as our van was our transportation to Florida and everything had been paid, so canceling wasn't an option.

I hope things improve so you can enjoy your trip!

I feel your pain! We had to have our house painted to "save" it from damage but it came out $350 more then planned and we learned we had a huge break in 2 of our windows $2000. The next week our water heater went out, $1100. Our payment was due during that mess.

I was totally stressed but DH reminded me we were blessed to have the EF to start with and we'll get it back up there as soon as we can.

Really looking forward to WDW and leaving this mess behind for a week.

Hope things start looking up for you soon!

Well, that's what emergency funds are for! Thank goodness that you had one. Imagine the consequences if you didn't!!!!

I hope that you weren't relying on the emergency fund to pay off the balance of your trip. Have a good time in Disney and worry about restoring your emergency fund once you get back.

Be happy u had an emergency fund instead of using a credit card! You will build it back up -- sorry for the unexpected expense!

That is what an emergency fund is for. It is good you have one but it is still frustrating when you have to use it.

That's what I was thinking....I think we spent $600 or so about 18 months ago on ours.

Mine with installation was about 1100. The heater itself less than half that amount.

Our last water heater was about $400 - DH installed it, thankfully.
