Goodbye DVC :(

:flower3: I don't post that often, but I've read many of your posts so feel like I 'know you' a little bit. Hoping things turn around for you very soon :goodvibes

Better luck to you in the future. I came close myself this year, it's a hard decision but you've obvioulsy made the decision that is best for you right now, just as you did when you initally purchased into DVC!

Who knows what the future may bring!

Just think of the bright side, you'll be able to buy BLT points at $20/pt in five years! :lmao:

Good luck!

I'm sorry, but very glad you were able to sell so quickly. Let's you get on with life. You have a great positive attitude!!

I'm very sorry you are having to sell. Things are getting pretty bad in our economy. Hoping you will still have vacations in your future!

I have enjoyed your posts and trip reports over the years-all the best to you and your family. Hoping things turn around soon for you.

I am so sorry that you had to sell, but hoping and praying that your circumstances improve and that you're able to purchase (in the future) resale at a GREAT price.

Please stick around, your experience is worth sharing.

I actually think that the price of the contracts themselves increase in value from the dates they were originally purchased.

I'm sad we are having to sell but it gives a goal in the future to work toward. DVC added so many friends to our family I can't imagine not having it in the future.

Sorry to hear you had to liquidate. But, how nice to have enjoyed years of vacations for the cost of dues, and recoup your initial $$ and more!

You will be back as an owner one day, in the meantime stay in touch here!

Great observation and attitude!

It is interesting how the contracts from the first decade are worth pretty much what we paid for them at retail.

I'm sure you'll be able to buy in at around this price when your financial situation turns better. There's no rush now that you know the ins and outs of the resale market. You'll even be able to optimize for the resort you want your 11-month window, the different maintenance fees, and can pick a new ideal use year!

Sorry to hear of your situation. Hopefully you'll visit us (the forum) regularly (and maybe live through us vicariously) until you can get back into the fold. With that, I'll end with: "See you real soon".

Wow! You were one of the first regular posters that I came to recognize, I will miss you! I'm glad your contracts sold.

Bobbi

It's been a wonderful 14 yr run but sometimes good things must come to an end. Unfortunately the economy has not been kind. Put my 2 contracts up for sale 3 days ago and they both have been sold.

I'm hoping in 5 yrs or so our lives will be back in order and we can purchase DVC again. I hope those that purchased will enjoy DVC over the years as my family has.
sorry that you had to sell but the more i look at renting points, the more convinced i am that renting is a smart financial move. we own 220 at ssr and i think about selling them often. now that i know about disboards and renting, that would be the route i would take if i hadn't purchased.
so maybe selling can be looked at as a positive?

So sorry to hear this. I really feel for you. We have been renting out points to make ends meet and it is hard. But we do what we have to do. Good luck!

I read a quote yesterday that went something like this: "Don't cry because it's ending; rather smile because it happened." Here's hoping that it happens again someday for you.

Jean said it best above. I'll miss your posts. LYMI

I am so sorry to hear you had to sell. Buying back is a good goal to have. I hope you continue to post here. Even though I don't post often I have enjoyed what you have posted.

I have followed your posts for years and remember how much you did for Robin - I actually read her first [hilarious] trip report as she was writing it and remember you stepping in and helping her go further with it. Hopefully, you will continue to post on the boards and I wish you the best of life. :flower3:

Sorry to hear of your troubles, sending prayers and happy thoughts your way. I can't wait until we can all welcome you back home!:goodvibes

Best of luck to you! Cherish the memories..."until we meet again..."
