Well, after a great deal of thought I've decided the time has come to bid you all a fond farewell!! Recent events have been a wake-up call for me and I think it's high time I got off my ample backside and did something useful with my life instead of sitting in front of my computer for a ridiculous number of hours every day! I realise that this is going to look like I'm stamping my little foot and having a major sulk at not being made a mod but there is a lot more going on here than meets the eye and it would be terribly indiscreet of me to say more. I've always been an "all-or-nothing" sort of a person and, as I don't feel I can give the DIS my all any more, I'd rather close the chapter and move on with my life. There are some wonderful, friendly, warm and kind people on the DLP board and I will miss you very much. Thank you for your friendship and support and for all the fun we've had. As someone once said:"There's a great big beautiful tomorrow" and I intend to go and make the most of it. Have a good life!!!

I don't know what to say! The dlp board will not be the same without you, you have been such a friend and done so much for us. I'm with Tia on this one - just because management have made one decision, we love you probably even more - so please, please don't leave.

Di, You know that if we'd have had any say in who was to be the new mod you would have been chosen for sure. Instead the decision has been made by people who don't even "know" you. Please say you'll see how you feel after having a rest from the DIS rather than this is goodbye forever.

Either way, I too respect your decision and would like to thank you for your kindness and helpfulness and wish you love, luck, health and happiness always.

Di, if you're still reading this thread, thank you so much for all your very kind info & tips, your lovely trip reports, and your constant presence on the board that encouraged me to participate for the first time ever in a message board. You have really helped to make my trips to DLP a success, and you have helped spread that lovely warm feeling that I get from the DLP board. For some reason my smilies won't work so I can't fill up the screen with the crying one but that's what I mean.

I really hope to see you again on the boards some time.

I'll miss your posts and your lovely trip reports and pictures. Some people have a personality that shines through the written word and you are certainly one of those people.

I hope that you and Rhiannon keep enjoying your trips together - and maybe your "real life" friends will get to spend more time with you. You have always been such a friendly person on here that I imagine you must have lots of friends who will be glad to see more of you.

First of all nothing I will write now should be against everyone else here on the Forum. You are all great persons and I really like many of you after this short 2 month I am a member of this community.

But reading that you Di will be leaving us because someone really obviously overlooked you by the Moderators-Choice is something I will have to take but don´t want to take.

Yes we do have 3 Moderators now, who will do a great job I am sure. But we allways had just one "Mother of the Board" and that is you Di. And don´t get me wrong, because I sometimes have problems with the language barrier. I mean "Mother of the Board" in the really best way it is to understand.

In my Oppinion you had been, at least in the time when I am taking part here, the heart and the soul of this forum and allways had a great impact on the warm feeling in speech and behavier within the group.

Please don´t leave us, because it really is like loosing someone who had become very important for me in such a short time.

But if you are leaving us now, I have to deal with it and accept and respect your decision. Have a wonderful life, I wish you and your daughter all the best and maybe you look around even sometimes.

i know that i haven't been on here for awhile with one thing and another but i have been checking in and reading posts when i can. when i saw this i thought i must say something, i respect both your thoughts but you must know one thing i think this board will be missing a great team. we will miss all your help and advice, your wonderful trip reports and your cheerful presence.

i wish you both lots of luck and happiness for the future, and if you think you can pop in every now and again i'm sure everybody will be pleased to see you.

While I am still very new here, you have been a tremendous help over the past few weeks. I understand why your friends here will miss you - I will miss you myself after only a few weeks.

Sometimes it is good to take a break, or sadly even to move on. I hope that you find peace and joy in whatever you decide to do....

Is this some sort of wind-up. Diana, you can't be leaving the DLP board. Since I joined this board you have been a constant source of assistance and information and your love of DLP shines through every comment you make. Your trip reports also are a delight to read! Whatever has happened to make you feel this way is beyond my understanding, and I can't believe that "message board politics" has resulted in this. Surely there is room for everybody on this board, and the value of all your contributions is second to none. Please please don't allow this happen as life is too short for this type of thing believe me, and the one thing I have always loved and valued about the DLP board is the friendly and supportive attitude which prevails (so much so that I have recommended it to others for that very reason!)

Although this situation and i dare say the email thread on the UK community board recently have upset you I don't think this should make you give up on something that you get so much enjoyment from. I believe you get as much from the board as you give as you like to help people and whether or not you are a moderator or not you will still be able to do this. I appreciate you spend a lot of time on the boards and maybe these events have made you question whether you should do something else with some of your time instead which i completely respect.But giving up completely would be as hard on you as the rest of us not having you to keep us organised and to offer advice to.That said If you do decide to leave I want to thank -you for all the help and advice you've given me (so far ) and wish you well.

I know I am speaking for Reid and Becky as well as myself when I say how very sad we are that Di and Rhiannon are deciding to leave the boards. We will be very very sorry to lose two very good friends as well as all their invaluable input.

We can only hope that they will reconsider their decision when they see how much they will be missed by all of us.

Di along with many others has been a stalwart on these boards. She has been a dear friend to me and we have traded many private conversations over many evenings; so in no way is she not in my thoughts. Some of these conversations I would hope have added to the magic of these boards.

She will know that there is always a place for her here but like others I will respect her wish should see decide to have some time away.
