Good view vs staying longer

When we do the 1 bedroom later down the line I think we will splurge too if we have extra points to spare, but for 2 bedroom and all our plans its really not making sense this time around
The pv isnt great currently at PIT due to all the construction works at the front of the hotel… worth taking into consideration.

Would not consider paying extra for a preferred view at most resorts.... There's too many games they play with rooms...

Personally, I like that OKW, BRV, BCV only differentiate by room type. At some resorts like SSR and RIV it really feels like a blatant cash grab to me. VGF and PIT I feel the same way with the way some rooms are classified - they rather generously allocate the percentage of rooms as premium views. It almost would be better to call the standard rooms "value" or "saver" in BPK and PIT...

AKV is the one exception because of the large number of savannah views, and you know, the animals are kind of the reason to stay there.

Even there, if I had the time, I would stay as long as I can... When I buy home resorts I always base it off the assumption I can stay in standard rooms. If at some point I found with 11 months I couldn't, I would probably exit the system. People talk about the 1BR premium, but the view premium compared to cash rates often is non-existent. A recent look at cash rates at BWI for this fall for example had no cost difference between standard and pool/garden on the cash side...

See above about the notion of view types being a cash grab...

From what im seeing on touring plans I feel like id like the standard views better for some resorts!

I like the standard view of the hotel and gardens at vgf better than the lake views I've been seeing.

Call me crazy but when we stayed at BLT they upgraded us because our heater wasnt working and i liked the pool view we were in better than the marina view they put us in🤣🤣

So I guess that answers that! Riv I would also prefer the epcot ball/firework standard option.

For SSR is the preferred not worth it? I was planning to book that for our trip next year to be closer to DS.

SSR and OKW (same points though) are for location rather than view.

I like the paddock are of SSR. I could still walk to DS from here and it has a feature pool with a QS so I don’t need to go to the Artist Palette.

Yeah I would stick with standard view since the Poly Tower has crazy point charts and the theme park views aren't guaranteed to be great.

The only resorts I have found that I will almost always pay for the better views if available are BWV Boardwalk view and AKV Savannah view. The point difference isn't that big but the views are amazing. And the rooms seem to be at least mostly (if not all) correctly categorized, unlike many of the other resorts.

For us, it often depends on our plans for trip. If we are visiting lots of parks, the view is less important. If it is more a laid back resort focused trip then view (and one bedroom over studio) become much more important
