Good view vs staying longer

Right now we have a stay booked at PIT in a 2 bedroom standard. Im really grappling with even attempting to upgrade to a tpv. It would be 100 more points to do this for four nights. With that being said I dont know when we're ever going to stay in a 2 bedroom at PIT again and I'd like to splurge for our "Welcome home" trip and have an amazing experience if its worth it.

We are going to Aulani next year in a two bedroom and those 100 extra points could possibly get us two extra nights at aulani if we stick with our PIT standard view.

I guess my question is, I have never booked a top tier room view except akv sv which we loved and wouldnt want to do any other way. Are these views for fireworks and the ocean worth it? Or would you rather have a longer stay somewhere with the same room type, but no view?

Rooms are the same until you pull the curtains. It’s all a personal preference but why chance the disappointment. Every view has its goodness in its own way. We splurged on the Duo Premium, 3 nights, but the point spread wasn’t that large. After staying there, those four outdoor space views make up for any view your room might have. Save the points.

I guess since I've never had the disappoint of spending so many points for an upgraded view and then having a subpar version of that view, Im still in this mindset.

But I've also never watched the fireworks view from the open spaces at PIT or the beach area, which I could do this trip and save the points for Aulani. Maybe take a gamble on a theme park view in a different resort that doesn't cost so many dang points because that PIT is a money pit lol

I’d be tempted if it was a difference of 5 pts a night…but 20? No. That’s a whole other trip using my math 🤣
Yeah 25 points in this case 😳 When you truly think about it that literally is another 4 days at a different resort and practically in a one bedroom (our bwv stay is later 26 points a night) thanks for putting it in perspective!

TPV is a bit of a lottery at PIT, including rooms on the first floor. For this reason I'd stick with what you've got.
Agreed! That's why I love this board, I learn new things everyday.

I didn't know they had tpv rooms on the first floor, its not worth being upset and crying over longer aulani stay missed if that happens 🤣🤣

I haven't really had great luck with good room views so far so I expect the trend to continue 🤣🤣

AKV is pretty much the only place I always go for the preferred view. I just can't see going there and not having the savanna view to enjoy :)
Same thats why I was wondering if id feel the same about the other views, but after reading the replies im going to take that gamble on a resort that commands less points for the upgrade!

I'd rather save the points and hope for a good view rather than spend the points and potentially get a disappointing view.

Only place I spend on view is AKV as well (which disappointingly my family didn't vibe with...maybe I'll go back on my own someday).

At AKV Jambo the standard (now resort) views overlook either the pool or a savanna, so that’s actually one where if I need to save points I’ll book resort view, however it’s not a risk I’d take over at Kidani 🤷‍♀️. I actually like the standard/resort views at VGF’s original building as well, so if I can save points there, I will.
