Ok we're staying 7 nights in Anaheim but would like to go to San Diego for a day after our 7 days in Anaheim and are looking for a nice hotel in San Diego that doesn't cost too much, looking to spend maybe around $100-$125 for the 1 night. Any good recommendations? Thanks!!!

My husband and I stayed at the Old Town Inn last July and it was nice. Good rates, clean rooms, free breakfast with waffles, some rooms have little kitchenettes and free WiFi. Best part was it is across the street from the trolly station to ride around the city (though it was easy to drive as well) and Old Town which had some sights and good restaurants.
Just Google Old Town Inn San Diego.

Thanks will check them out. Anyone else have any recommendations?

Have you tried Priceline.com? We have always used them for SD. Last year, we got the Marriott La Jolla for $80/night. Year before that, we got the Hyatt La Jolla for $82/night. Both are 4* hotels. We like La Jolla and have had very nice stays in that area in those hotels.

If you do use Priceline, remember to use www.biddingfortravel.com for help before you start bidding on Priceline.com.

Good luck!

Wow, those are good price you got. The Marriott I was looking at through hotels.com wanted $149/night. I'll have to check into that. Thanks.

Remember that once you book with Priceline, you cannot cancel and get a refund. You have to be absolutely sure of your dates when you book. Remember to read the FAQs on the www.biddingfortravel.com website.

We have always gotten great results with Priceline and are only able to afford going on vacation because of Priceline.

If you have an Entertainment 2007 book they have a hotels at half price program that actually works. We booked a Comfort Inn Hotel Circle, San Diego for under $80 a night. The room is a kitchenette suite with 2 queen beds.

Don't know if that helps... but there you go!

I actually do have that book, and was looking at that. I currently had a Sheraton Four Points in mind that was around $110 a night I believe.

:thumbsup2 Hi we just got home yesterday, we stayed at Holiday Inn on the bay, it was 110.00 a night, some of the rooms have been redone, but dd13 has asthma and couldn't handle the paint smell, the room we got was in really good shape, very clean and nice, the have a shuttle van that takes you to the zoo, airport, amtrak,Horton Plaza. you can easily walk to the amtrak and trolley, seaport village, the ferry for Coronado is right across the street as is the Star of India and other boats to tour, we weren't bothered by noise like some of the reviews on tripadvisor.we would stay here again. they had a nice heated pool and 2 rooms of workout equipment to use.hope this helps.:hippie:

Thanks for the all the help guys, I ended up booking a Courtyard by Marriott in Rancho Bernardo about 20 miles north of the San Diego Zoo, for $110 for that night. It's on the way home anyways so decided to get it. The hotel looked pretty decent and it was just renovated. Can't beat that price compared to the other junk I was getting at $110 a night.
