I thought that I would pass this tip on since alot of you and your kids love to swim during your vacation. I am a aquasize teacher and have found a great product to clean your swimsuit! You can take it on your DCL. It is found in swim shops and on the net. It is by a company called Malibu. It is a detergent for swimsuits that takes all the chemicals and salts out of your suits. You just add 1/8 tsp to a sink full of warm water and let it sit for a few seconds and it is clean! Just hand dry. It also extends the life of a suit (never put a suit in the washing machine!). I am going to take some on my DCL.

Wow, i am going to try this too. Thank you for sharing!

Great tip! Sounds really easy and definately worth taking on board. See, you learn something new everyday on this board.

Thanks for the tip. I just found it on the web and ordered 2! Kathy

Great tip. Thanks I'll try it out. I didn't know you shouldn't wash bathing suits in the washing machine.

Can someone tell me what this is called? I found a detergent made by "Blue Sky" but I would rather go with something "tried and true"! A website address would be helpful too.

Thanks

I did a search on google for Malibu c crystals. On some of the links I just could not find it. I finally found it on http://store.yahoo.com/lane4swim/maccrpocl.html.

I used my husbands old mac and didn't realize the google search site I ended up with was a yahoo site. I thought I was at lane4wim.com. Maybe it was just how he had it set up. It took about 15 min. to find the stuff but it will be worth it. Kathy

I've always washed mine in the washing machine...just never put them in the dryer and they are fine....

You can put mens swim suits in the laundry but if you want to keep a womens swimsuit for a longer time with less color fade and loss of elastic you should not put it in the washing machine. Womens suits are pretty darn expensive and when you teach 2-4 aqua classes a week you don't want to buy suits all the time.

Another tip is to wash your suit out in cold water when you take it off--gets some of the chemicals out..............

Happy swimming:wave2:

I usually buy 2 new ones each season anyway so I guess thats why it doesn't matter if I put the in the washing machine or not..I only keep them one season.
