Good things come to those who wait.....

So having just made it to the 160 day mark until our next stay I have come to the conclusion that the 120 days from 180 down to 60 for Fastpass is by far the worst part of waiting.......

Beyond 180 days the holiday is far enough away waiting is not an issue and then having gone through the excitement of the 180 day mark and making ADR's and getting your plans together to the point where they are becoming real to now have to wait 120 days is just plain cruel! :sad2:

So I was wondering what others do to pass the time? Do you think Disney could bridge the gap by perhaps offering another milestone during this time? Such as only being able to Memory Maker at this point....

I think Disney could make more of the whole planning and waiting aspects of a Disney Holiday to keep the excitement going.

Interested to hear peoples thoughts!

Personally, I would prefer that the ADR booking window be reduced to 60 days to coincide with the FP+ window. Or, make both windows 90 days. Planning 180 days in advance is kind of ridiculous, although admittedly, we find a way to do it. For the most part, booking FP+ at exactly 60 days does not appear to be necessary most of the year, except perhaps for the Anna/Elsa meet and greet. And, even at 56 days I still had the option for Anna/Elsa on some days. We are traveling with two boys, so fortunately for us, Anna and Elsa FP+ will be left for others!

I would not welcome another milestone booking window. When you have multiple DVC trips in the works over the course of 11 months, it becomes too confusing and time consuming. If everything opened at 60 or 90 days, there would be 1 day of taking care of everything within a reasonable timeframe before the trip to make it exciting.

I agree it can be "tough" waiting for those dates but I can't even imagine having to book farther than 60.

I just hit that mark for my July trip and to be honest, its stressful trying to figure out things from now.

I can say because I travel to Disney a few times a year, I am always hitting milestones at different points so it does help the time go faster.

So are you suggesting that the best way of dealing with this is to book more frequent trips :) I like your thinking....

I can see your point, I guess being in the UK our trips are annual so having the milestones works ok for us. However I can see if you are in the US and are able to more frequently visit how keeping a tab on things could quickly become a job in itself.

We use to be able to get our fix at doorway to dreams that had events three or four times a year, but alas that door has shut. I am leaving for WDW in one week then a trip to Disney's Hilton Head resort in July, so all is good right know.

Funny...I actually put on my calendar at the 90 day mark to book Memory Maker! I thought it would be a good hold over from 180 to 60 :) Now that we are DVC it seems like there are so many calendar events...11 months out, then 7 months out if we want to switch, now 6 months out for ADR, 3 for memory maker, 2 for fp+, and 1 for finalizing your mb's! I have yet to make fp+ or even think about it for my trip...I just made the 11 month out reservation...AHHH!

I will say that we are doing SWW next year. I am heavily researching this years since we have never done it. That makes the time go by pretty fast!

This will have to be the support group for now!

What is Memory Maker?:confused3

Thank you.

Why do you have to book it ahead of time?

There is a discount if u book it ahead of time. It could be a few days before the trip. I do it at 90 because it adds a small bit of excitement during the looooong wait between dining and fp+. It's a stretch, I know :)
