Depends on if cost is a matter or not. #1 rated place on Disney property is California Grill at the top of the Contemporary resort. Steaks are delicous and you would want your PS ressie to be around the time that Wishes goes off at MK for the day of your ressie. Now, your bill for 2 people will be $100 or over depending on if you like to drink alcohol. Second best rated restaurant on Disney property is Le Cellier in Canada at Epcot's World Showcase. This is my personal favorite. I get a great steak and my mom gets her grilled fish and we both love our meal. Now our total for salads, steaks and split dessert with tip is usually about $80 to $85 and includes great service (Elaine is the best).
There are a few others such as the Yachtsmen Steakhouse and one place in DTD but I have not eaten at these but have read iffy reviews in the past few months from people who have stated that there last meals weren't the greatest. I am sure that you will get several other replies and am interested to see what they have to say as well. Have a great vacation.
California Grill is a super restaurant and does have a great filet, but it has lots of other things as well (good fish and great sushi); the focus is not on steak. Le Cellier is very well liked by many (although I don't know about it being the #2 rated restaurant on property), but not my cup of tea.
Yachtsman Steakhouse in the Yacht Club is more of a pure steakhouse and is very good. This would be my recommendation. Shula's over at Swan or Dolphin (can't remember which) is also more of a pure steakhouse. Both are in the same price range as Cal Grill (meaning dinner plus drinks will easily run in excess of $100).
Seriously, though, my family had a great meal at the Yachtsman on our last visit...........First and only time there, but it was a great great great Filet Mignon.............
If you want the best steak on property, you gotta go to Shula's. Yes, it is pricey, but the meal is worth it. The chefs there understand that the term "medium" does not mean grill it until it is a charcoal briquette.
Yachtsman Steakhouse is good, as is Le Cellier. But Shula's is by far the best.
ANother vote for Le Cellier. I actually had a real good steak at the Concourse Steakhouse for breakfast. I had the steak and eggs, the ny strip was the perfect begining of my day.
While I thought the California Grill had great views i don't think it is a great place for a kid free evening dinner unless you go AFTER the fireworks. We went to CG on a Saturday night and the place was packed with people wanting to see the fireworks from up high. Definitely not relaxing.
If steak is the only factor:
(1) Shula's (big variety of top grade beef)
(2) Flying fish (NY Strip Only)
(3) Artist Point (Buffalo steak & Filet Mignon)
Shulas in the Dolphin, DH absolutly HAS to eat there every trip, I swear thats the only reason he goes back to Disney with me!! Hey if the bribe works flow with it!!
