what are good sit downs for lunch and where should i avoid. i want to do sit downs for lunches to get out of the heat

Well I think any sit down that offers lunch is a good place to try. We frequently opt to have our big meal at lunch and have enjoyed: Sci Fi, Prime Time, Coral Reef, San Angel Inn, Kona Cafe, Rainforest Cafe at AK, Akershus, Crystal Palace and probably some others I can't remember! The one I really want to try someday is Liberty Tree Tavern. The menu looks good and is completely different at lunch (no characters too). And one other I might recommend even though I haven't eaten there either is the Plaza at MK. Since its mostly sandwiches that might be a nice option.

Even when I am on the DDP I don't worry about lunch being the cheaper and thereby less "of a good deal" vs. dinner. I just want to eat when it works best for my family!

We like Marrakesh for a cool & relaxing sit down lunch. It does get a lttle noisy with all that beautiful tile, though! But the brilliance of the decor is so enjoyable we overlook the noise thing :thumbsup2
There is music and discreet bellydancing, also. We find it very pleasant & make a point to dine there every trip!

hands down liberty tree tavern is the best place to lunch! it has my favorite menu and i, like you, love to get out of the heat for lunch. The first time I ever had lunch at LTT i went because the Air conditioning was so refreshing. My absolutely fave thing to eat in disney is the colonial salad (chicken, apples, nuts, cheddar and strawberry viniagrette...yum!)at LTT, but everything there is good.

I don't know where you will be, but I like Olivia's at OKW.

The Plaza at MK is very good for sandwiches and Le Cellier at Epcot is awesome!

We love Brown Derby at MGM and Coral Reef at Epcot. I have also had lunch at Kona and LesChefs which were good.

In MK our favorite sit down lunch spot is Liberty Tree Tavern. The menu is fantastic and the food is delicious.

In MGM we have always liked Hollywood and Vine and Sci Fi. Haven't been to either in a while, but they have never let us down.

EPCOT...we can go almost anywhere for lunch there. San Angel Inn, Biergarten, Norway, Morocco, Chefs de France

AK..we stick with Tusker House..until the new restaurant opens of course

Now, when you are in EPCOT or MGM you also have options over at the boardwalk...Big River, ESPN and if Fresh is still doing that mediterranean buffet (never tried it..but it looked fantastic..the breakfast there is wonderful)

MK: Liberty Tree Tavern or the Plaza

Epcot: Chefs de France, we also enjoy Rose and Crown

MGM: Brown Derby and Mama Melrose

MK resort area: Kona Cafe and Grand Floridian Cafe are both great

Epcot resort area: Yacht Club Galley or Beaches and Cream

DTD: Wolfgang Puck Cafe and Raglan Road (if that place has started to offer lunch...conflicting reports)

Our kids loved the Garden Grill in Epcot. The dining area slowly rotates over "The Land" ride. The food is served family style. Very fresh and very yummy. Characters such as Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale visit. Worth the visit even if you are not into characters.
