Good Restaurants in MK For Dinner?

For TS the only place we have tried is Crystal Palace. It is beautiful setting, the characters are fun, and the buffet is decent although not spectacular.

For CS, Cosmic Ray's serves a good size dinner portions for a reasonable price.

In my opinion, there aren't any. The Plaza's OK though, it's really just a sandwich shop.

There's only five regularly operating TS restaurants at MK - Cinderella's Royal Table (fixed price character meal - very expensive), Crystal Palace (character buffet), Liberty Tree Tavern (family style Thanksgiving-esque dinner), Tony's Town Square (basic Italian) and the Plaza (sandwich/soda shoppe kind of place). I am not a fan of any of them.

Sometime in 2012, a sixth TS restaurant, Be Our Guest, is set to open in the Fantasyland expansion. There's no info yet about menus or styles of food, but there are rumors that the restaurant will feature some type of either costumed or animatronic characters.

For dinner our choice would be to leave the MK, have dinner at one of the monorail resort restaurants and then return for the parade and Wishes.

Well, it's kind of essential to choose a restaurant at this park. We only have a certain amount of days, and we can't participate in EMH. So if you HAD to choose, what would it be? Is Tony's any good?

I like LTT a lot. It isn't anything fancy by any means but for basic comfort food it can't be beat. I also like the atmosphere and the service is great too:)

I agree. Liberty Tree Tavern would be the restaurant my family would choose for dinner in the MK. Never have had a bad meal here. The food has always been fresh and good. And although we do miss the characters it's still a big hit with my family.

I didn't like Tony's at all, but I haven't been there for a few years. I didn't even like the dessert. If I had to choose between those for dinner it would probably be the Plaza. I do not do dinner TS in the Magic Kingdom at all. I like Liberty Tree's a la carte lunch though.

Actually I would be far more likely to skip a TS and do a CS in MK. There are a number of varied CS options.

Another vote for Liberty Tree Tavern - can't beat the comfort food - it was one restaurant my kids loved - and we did too! It was a nice break from the usual fare that the kids eat for each meal at Disney.

I really like Crystal Palace.

If you're looking for counter service, Columbia Harbour House and Cosmic Ray's are good.

However if you do want to take a break....there are quite a few on the monorail line that are really good and it wouldn't take long to get there and get back to the park.

I totally agree, MK seriously needs a GOOD TS restaurant. I hope Be Our Guest is the answer. We usually book dinner at one of the close by resorts on MK days.

I'm not holding out much hope for Be Our Guest if it turns out to have a character meal. Disney knows well that guests will book character meals no matter how the food is.

Although I was reluctant to eat at Tony's (because of the negative reviews) we had a wonderful meal there on our last trip. The atmosphere was a nice quiet break from the more hectic pace of the park. We always have to eat at CP (for the setting and characters) but I now try to work in a meal at Tony's... a nice change from the rush of character/buffet meals. And we enjoyed our food as well!

Both Crystal Palace and Placa are ok, pretty standard food. I'd say if you have kids, Crystal Palace, otherwise I would do a CS. Cosmic Rays is pretty good along with Columbian Harbor House.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

I ended up at Tony's on my recent trip....after listening to negative reviews, i still wanted to give it a shot. I was curious. But i honestly wished i listened to those negative reviews because this was by far one of the worst meals i've had in my 10 day trip. My DS10 thought so too. I had the chicken parm & my son had spag n's balls. I took a bite of his meatball and had to spit it into my napkin. It was disgusting. And my chicken parm wasnt good either. Im convinced something is wrong with their tomato sauce. Its disgusting. I wish i ordered the steak!! (kinda sad that im telling you to stay away from the tomato sauce at an italian restaurant, Lol!).

I would highly recommend Liberty Tree for dinner. I love their thanksgiving style feast!! This restaurant is a tradition for us. SO YUMMY!

My second choice would either be Plaza or Crystal Palace. All depends what type of dining experience you like best.

Sounds like you only have one day at the MK. I would pass on any of the substandard TS food and concentrate on rides/shows with your limited time. The TS food is just not worth the time out of the day if you only have one day and can't get in early.

If you are lucky enough to get an ADR for a pre opening time brekkie at CRT or CP I would do that, but otherwise I would just do regular counter service dining to maximize time.
